Description The Department of Cognitive Sciences at the United Arab Emirates University invites applications for an Instructor position in Psychology. The area of specialization is open; however, candidates with experience or expertise in critical thinking, logic, philosophy of mind, or related fields are particularly encouraged to apply. Candidates with practical teaching experience and a strong interest in interdisciplinary collaboration will also be of interest. The Department of Cognitive Sciences at UAEU is dynamic and diverse, with excellent research facilities. We seek a collegial and talented colleague in the discipline of Psychology. The UAEU is located in Al Ain city (Emirate of Abu Dhabi), on the border with Oman and about 1\.5 hours' drive from the cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The UAEU offers an attractive tax-free salary, free housing, medical insurance, and annual return airfares to the country of origin for expatriate employees and their immediate families. There is also a modest relocation allowance, as well as other benefits, including an education subsidy for children. Minimum Qualification



Applicants must have earned a bachelor's and a master's degree in Psychology from an internationally reputable university.



Preferred Qualification



Preference may be given to applicants who (1\) have completed recognized professional development courses in higher education teaching and (2\) have relevant practical experience in teaching or working in areas relevant to Psychology.



Expected Skills



The successful candidate is expected to have an excellent publication track record commensurate with career stage, and a demonstrable ability to attract competitive funding. The language of instruction at UAEU is English and applicants need to have native or near-native fluency in English.
