Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lawyer to provide legal counsel across all facets of our real estate development operations. This role is important for ensuring that the company's interests are protected and that all activities comply with relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Legal Counsel: Provide legal advice to management on real estate transactions, development projects, and corporate matters.
• Contract Oversight: the drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts, including joint venture agreements, development agreements, land acquisition deals, construction contracts, sale and purchase contracts, contract with agencies/brokers, employment contracts.
• Compliance: provide the company's compliance with all local, state, and federal real estate laws and regulations, including land use, zoning, environmental standards, and building codes.
• Risk Management: Identify and manage legal risks associated with development projects, including potential litigation, regulatory actions, and contract disputes.
• Litigation Management: manage any litigation or arbitration, working closely with external counsel as needed, and ensuring the company's interests are vigorously defended.
• Due Diligence Leadership: Oversee and conduct thorough due diligence on property acquisitions and development opportunities, including title review, environmental assessments, and zoning compliance.
• Intellectual Property Protection: Safeguard and manage the company's intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks, patents, and proprietary information.
Qualifications:
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a top-tier law school.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in real estate law, preferably within a major real estate development company or law firm.
• Extensive knowledge of real estate transactions, contract law, land use, zoning, and regulatory compliance.
• Proven track record in managing real estate deals and navigating the legal aspects of large-scale development projects.
• Negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to handle high-pressure situations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
