The Role of the Inclusion Teacher
As an Inclusion Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a learning environment where all students, including those with additional learning needs, are supported to succeed. This includes:
Developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to students' needs.
Collaborating with teachers to adapt and differentiate the curriculum to ensure accessibility and engagement for all learners.
Working closely with parents, staff, and external agencies to provide comprehensive support for students.
Supporting students with English as an Additional Language (EAL), learning difficulties, or other barriers to learning.
Monitoring progress and providing data-driven interventions to ensure every student achieves measurable growth.
Promoting inclusive practices throughout the school to create a culture of acceptance and celebration of diversity.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a teacher who can demonstrate:
A strong understanding of inclusive education and strategies to support students with diverse needs.
Experience in creating and delivering individualized learning plans.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and parents.
Confidence in using data and assessments to track progress and inform interventions.
A commitment to creating a positive and inclusive school culture.
The ability to work with multicultural and multilingual students, respecting and celebrating cultural diversity.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered, you must have:
A teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, BEd, or equivalent) and at least two years of experience in inclusion or special needs education as well as a qualification in SEN.
Knowledge of current UK educational practices and SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) frameworks.
Proven ability to effectively support and teach students across primary and/or secondary age ranges.
Experience working with students with EAL or additional needs is highly desirable.
