Role Overview

The Inclusion Mentor supports students across all phases of the school who require individualized or small-group instruction to reach their full potential. This role combines academic support, social-emotional development, instructional planning, and collaboration with families and specialists to promote inclusive education.

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Planning & Delivery

Collaborate with mentors and curriculum leads to design differentiated, interdisciplinary learning aligned to learner needs.

Learner Progress & Development

Monitor academic, social, and emotional development; provide targeted support. Foster independence, self-esteem, and inclusive participation in the school community.

Instructional Adaptation

Deliver high-quality lessons to individuals or small groups using specialized strategies and assistive tools. Differentiate instruction for English Language Learners and students with diverse needs.

Assessment & Identification

Conduct screenings and internal assessments. Support the development of individualized learning plans and maintain accurate records.

Collaboration & Professional Learning

Share inclusive practices, co-plan with mentors, and participate in professional development. Promote school-wide understanding of learning needs.

Parental & External Communication

Communicate regularly with families and external providers (e.g., therapists, psychologists).

Behavior & Emotional Support

Provide positive behavioral support and pastoral care, coordinating with pastoral leads.

Inclusive Enrichment Opportunities

Support inclusive learning beyond the classroom, including trips and extracurriculars.

Administrative & School Contributions

Maintain documentation and participate in events, open days, and staff meetings. Engage in after-school activities and school initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Psychology, or equivalent. Master's preferred. 3+ years' experience in inclusive education. Proficiency in English; Arabic preferred for supporting Arabic-taught subjects. Strong IT, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.

Competencies:

Commitment to inclusivity and learner success. Experience in behavior management and social-emotional support. Knowledge of assistive technology and inclusive learning tools. First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
