Job Overview:
Oliver Wyman is seeking a highly qualified and proactive candidate to lead the IMEA regional Talent Management (TM) and Performance Management (PM) Function.
The Regional Head of Talent Management will be primarily responsible for the full scope of Talent & Performance Management related topics for the Core Consultant Group (CCG), Affiliated Consulting Group (ACG) as well as Specialists across all IMEA markets. The role spans a broad range of themes and reports into the IMEA Executive Director of Talent. The role is responsible for managing and developing a team of Talent & Performance Managers as well as Talent Coordinators who are in charge of ~800 consultants across currently 8 offices.
The Regional Head of Talent Management will frequently interact with and act as a trusted advisor to partners across IMEA (practice leads, office leads, market leads) to support their business needs. They will also proactively collaborate with the other talent management leads and share best practices across the regions.
The Regional Head of Talent Management manages all aspects of Talent Management from performance management & pyramid shaping, to staffing, talent management initiatives & projects such as Transfers, Mobility, Global Talent Programs, Consultant Development & Training Reporting, Wellbeing)
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management:
• Manage a diverse team across all markets
• Responsible for the smooth running, training, and development of the IMEA Talent Management team through daily interaction and oversight
• Ensure transparency and accountability across the region
Performance Management:
• Responsible for the smooth running of the Performance Management Team and performance cycles.
• Oversee the annual performance management process at Year-End and Mid-Year for ACG, CCG and
• Specialists as well as the regional principal promotion process
• Ensure alignment with business stakeholders across all practices and groups
• Collaborate with global or other regional efforts and align as much as possible
Staffing:
• Oversee and coordinate across teams the staffing of all consultants with a focus on development needs and opportunities
• Manage any escalations and conflicts
Projects:
• Together with the Talent Management Leads and the Executive Director of Talent monitor and manage the engagement and communication of all consulting groups, as well as tracking key topics and concerns through relevant mechanisms
• Foster a regional sense of belonging and office culture by monitoring morale, working with the consultant committee, and internal meetings, as well as collaborating with CRGs
• Utilize tools like OW Balance and firm surveys aligning closely with the IMEA Wellbeing lead
• Drive and own Talent Management programs like MBA, NPF, CFA rotations and transfers
Reporting:
• Create visibility on utilization and availability as well as pipeline, sold roles, consultant deployment, and backlog
• Implement tracking mechanisms collaborating with relevant departments (mobility, tax, hardship, long-haul)
• Create reports for different stakeholder groups like IMEA MC, practice leads, office leads and market leads
• Proactively look into continuous improvements to further automate reporting.
Collaboration:
• Liaise with Office, Market and Practice Leaders as well as the CCG Partner on any TM related topics
• Coordinate with HC Ops, FP&A, Chief of Staff, Recruiting, Mobility, Legal, L&D and Compensation Departments on regional topics such as capacity planning, on- boarding, training and compensation
• Work closely together with the Executive Director of Talent and/or Talent Project Manager on all topics
Experience Required:
• Ideal candidates will have at least 8-10 years of relevant professional experience in a fast-paced and dynamic client services business environment. Management consulting and/or talent management experience preferred
• Experience in balancing ever-changing work demands in a challenging environment with numerous stakeholders to satisfy
• Proven ability to foster relationships at all levels of the organization
