Job Description

:

The ICT Support Officer at British Applied College is a vital role dedicated to maintaining and enhancing the technological infrastructure of the institution. This position is crucial in ensuring the seamless operation of all ICT systems and services, which support both academic and administrative functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Website and Digital Communications Management:
• Manage the performance and functionality of the college's website, including website hosting, and ensure continuous availability and content relevance.
• Manage and update the content of the website to keep it current and engaging.
• Oversee bulk SMS services for effective communication with staff and students.
• Implement and manage social media marketing campaigns to enhance the college's presence and engagement online.
• LMS Platform Management:
• Administer, update, and troubleshoot the Moodle Learning Management System to facilitate educational activities.
• Email Platform Administration:
• Maintain the Microsoft Azure email platform, ensuring secure and efficient email communications college-wide.
• CCTV Management:
• Oversee CCTV security systems to ensure comprehensive coverage and data integrity.
• IP Telephony:
• Administer the IP telephony system for optimal performance and reliability in internal communications.
• Backup/Restore Processes:
• Develop and implement backup and restore procedures to protect the college's data integrity.
• Server Management:
• Manage server operations, including software updates, security patches, and hardware maintenance.
• Computer Lab Management and Maintenance:
• Ensure all computer lab hardware and software are maintained to support educational activities effectively.
• Ubiquity / Unify Platform Experience:
• Configure and manage the Ubiquity - Unify platform, including firewall settings for network security.
• Network Infrastructure:
• Design and manage network topology, VLANs, and structured cabling systems. Administer Layer 3 switches and routing protocols to enhance network efficiency and scalability.
• Biometric Attendance Systems:
• Manage biometric systems to track staff and student attendance accurately.
• Network Printer/Copier Management:
• Maintain network printers and copiers, ensuring optimal functionality and accessibility.
• KOHA E-Library Management (Ubuntu/Linux Platform):
• Oversee the KOHA e-library system on a Linux platform, ensuring reliable access to resources and system updates.
• Asset Management:
• Implement and monitor asset management and tracking systems for all ICT and non-ICT equipment.
• Other responsibilities as assigned from time to time

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. MCSE/ CISCO Certifications will be considered as an advantage
• Two to Three years' experience in managing ICT systems in an educational environment preferred.
• Strong technical expertise across a broad range of computing and networking technologies.
• Exceptional problem-solving capabilities, communication skills and a commitment to excellent customer service.

Reporting Line: Reports to the Director of Administration & Operations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From AED3,000.00 per month
