: ICT Infrastructure Architect Position Overview: As an ICT Infrastructure Architect you will be responsible for designing and implementing the information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure for the organization's oil field and other locations. Your role will involve developing robust and scalable infrastructure solutions that meet the specific needs and requirements of an oil production company. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, security, and optimal performance of the ICT infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: 1. Infrastructure Design and Planning:
Develop and maintain the ICT infrastructure architecture for the oil field and other locations, considering the unique requirements and challenges of the oil production industry.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business and operational requirements and translate them into ICT infrastructure designs.
Design and implement network infrastructure to connect various locations, including the oil field, offices, and remote sites.
Ensure the availability of critical systems and infrastructure components, such as SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, data centers, servers, storage, and telecommunications.
2. Infrastructure Implementation and Deployment:
Lead the implementation and deployment of ICT infrastructure projects, including hardware and software components specific to the oil and gas industry.
Collaborate with network engineers, system administrators, and other relevant teams to ensure successful infrastructure deployment.
Implement disaster recovery and business continuity solutions to minimize downtime and protect critical data and systems.
Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices in the design and implementation of the ICT infrastructure.
3. Security and Compliance:
Develop and implement robust security measures to protect the ICT infrastructure from cyber threats, data breaches, and unauthorized access.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, such as NIST, ISO 27001, and IEC 62443, relevant to the oil and gas sector.
Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement appropriate security controls.
Collaborate with the security team to develop incident response plans and participate in security incident investigations.
4. Infrastructure Monitoring and Performance Optimization:
Implement monitoring tools and processes to proactively identify and resolve performance issues, capacity constraints, and network bottlenecks.
Analyze infrastructure performance data and provide recommendations for optimization and improvement.
Establish and monitor service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure the ICT infrastructure meets operational requirements.
Continuously review and enhance infrastructure monitoring and management processes to ensure reliability and performance.
5. Documentation and Communication:
Prepare detailed technical documentation, including infrastructure designs, standards, procedures, and configurations, specific to the oil production environment.
Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non technical stakeholders.
Provide technical guidance and support to other teams, including operations, engineering, and support teams.
Participate in cross-functional meetings and present infrastructure-related updates and recommendations.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Proven experience (10 years) working as an infrastructure architect or a similar role, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
Strong knowledge of ICT infrastructure components, including networks, servers, storage, telecommunications, and SCADA systems.
In-depth understanding of infrastructure architecture principles, methodologies, and best practices in the oil production context.
Experience with implementing and managing secure and highly available ICT infrastructure solutions.
Familiarity with industrial control systems (ICS) and operational technology (OT) environments.
Knowledge of security principles and best practices relevant to the oil and gas industry.
Proficiency in infrastructure monitoring and management tools.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CISSP, GICSP) are a plus
