News and information are available at or follow us on .We are seeking a detail-oriented HSE Inspector to join our Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for a transportation project entering the Design & Build (D&B) phase. The selected candidate will work under the HSE Manager and be responsible for monitoring the D&B contractor's compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and regulations.Roles and Responsibilities
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Monitor and ensure the D&B contractor's compliance with HSE standards, regulations, and project-specific requirements.
Review the contractor's HSE plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
Assist in incident investigations and ensure root causes are identified, and corrective actions are implemented including photographs of the incident as required.
Prepare and present HSE reports, including statistics, trends, and recommendations for improvement.
Provide HSE guidance and support to the project team, contractors, and stakeholders.
Coordinate and conduct HSE training and awareness programs for project personnel and contractors.
Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure all necessary permits and approvals are obtained and maintained.
Promote a positive HSE culture and ensure continuous improvement in HSE performance.
Participate in project meetings and provide updates on HSE matters.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Professional certification in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP) is highly desirable.
Knowledge and Experience
Minimum of 5 -7 years of experience in HSE management, with a focus on metro or railway projects.
Proven experience in a PMC environment, acting as a client representative.
In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.
Experience in conducting HSE audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
Strong understanding of risk assessment and management principles.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and manage multiple stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
Mandatory - Experience in the rail, metro or any transit sectors or something similar.
Familiarity with project management principles and practices.
Proficiency in using HSE management software and tools.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to influence and drive a positive HSE culture.
