Responsibilities:
Safety Planning:
• Develop, implement, and maintain safety plans and procedures specific to swimming pool and landscaping projects.
• Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety issues and develop mitigation strategies.
Training and Education:
• Provide safety training and orientation to all personnel, including employees, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Conduct regular safety meetings and toolbox talks to reinforce safety protocols and best practices.
Inspection and Compliance:
• Perform regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
• Identify and address any unsafe conditions or practices, and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
Incident Management:
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and develop preventive measures.
• Maintain accurate records of all safety-related incidents and generate reports for management review.
Emergency Preparedness:
• Develop and implement emergency response plans, including procedures for fire, medical emergencies, and other potential hazards.
• Conduct emergency drills and exercises to ensure readiness and effectiveness of response plans.
Collaboration and Communication:
• Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure safety considerations are integrated into project planning and execution.
• Communicate safety expectations, policies, and updates to all personnel effectively.
Regulatory Compliance:
• Stay updated on relevant safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Ensure all safety documentation, permits, and certifications are current and comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a safety officer role, preferably within the construction, swimming pool, or landscaping industries.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices relevant to construction, swimming pools, and landscaping.
• Proficiency in using safety management software and tools for reporting and tracking safety incidents and compliance.
• xcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey safety information and expectations to diverse audiences.
• Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships and influencing safety culture.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
• Ability to maintain accurate and detailed safety records and documentation.
