Job Description

The HSE Officer is responsible for promoting and ensuring a safe and healthy work environment. This role involves developing, implementing, and overseeing health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Risk Assessment :
• Conduct regular risk assessments to identify hazards and evaluate risks.
• Develop strategies to mitigate identified risks.
• Policy Development :
• Create and implement HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Ensure all policies comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Training and Education :
• Develop and deliver HSE training programs for employees.
• Maintain training records and ensure compliance with training requirements.
• Monitoring and Reporting :
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of the workplace to ensure compliance.
• Prepare reports on health and safety performance and incidents.
• Incident Investigation :
• Investigate accidents and near-misses, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
• Maintain records of incidents and follow up on corrective actions.
• Emergency Preparedness :
• Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
• Conduct drills and simulations to test emergency plans.
• Communication :
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and external organizations on HSE matters.
• Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within the organization.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, ISO 14001) are preferred.
• Proven experience in health and safety management.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
