Educational Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree : A degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related field is often required.
• Certifications : Relevant certifications can include:
• Trakhees Approval from the Regulatory and Supervisory Bureau for all construction projects
• NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) General Certificate or International General Certificate.
• OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) certification.
• IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) Managing Safely.
• CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or other equivalent certifications.
Professional Experience
• Experience : Typically, 5 -7 years of experience in a health and safety role within the civil or construction sector Gulf country.
• Knowledge of Civil Projects : Familiarity with the specific health and safety challenges associated with civil engineering projects, such as construction sites, infrastructure projects, and public works.
Responsibilities
• Policy Development : Developing and implementing health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Site Inspections : Regularly inspecting construction sites to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Training : Conducting training sessions for staff on safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Incident Reporting : Reporting and documenting any accidents, near misses, or health hazards.
• Regulatory Compliance : Ensuring the project complies with all relevant health and safety laws and regulations.
• Emergency Preparedness : Developing emergency response plans and conducting drills.
• Sustainability Initiatives : Implementing and monitoring environmental sustainability practices.
