Wood are actively expanding our project delivery portfolio within the United Arab Emirates and as such are seeking additional experienced personnel for upcoming work.One of the major projects we are seeking additional personnel for, is to manage the Design, Procurement, Construction Management, Commissioning Handover to Operations, for an EPCm portfolio of safety critical systems across multiple offshore assets.The EPCm project is both very exciting and challenging, with a real focus on portfolio delivery to maximize efficiency and deliver the multiple project scopes safely with no impact on production. The project is due to commence in 2024 and has an estimated duration of three years, however this is a perfect opportunity for the right people to join the growing Wood Team in the United Arab Emirates and forge long-lasting careers with great opportunities for growth and development.Job Objective:
The safe and effective delivery of a portfolio of brownfield safety critical projects on multiple offshore platforms; including large production complexes (multiple platforms linked by bridges) and remote Wellhead Towers, within an EPCM contracting model.
Shall establish the HSE Management System to be used across the portfolio of projects and multiple construction contractors.
Shall oversee the contractor organisations in the implementation of the Project specific HSE management plans.
Shall ensure an effective Hazard and risk management process in place and implemented
Shall ensure project and site construction execution and delivery in compliance with local regulations and contract requirements.
Establishment of HSE team to ensure project scopes are planned and executed with safety and protection of the environment at the forefront of all activities.
Provide certainty and confidence to the client and Wood project sponsor, that the contract is being delivered safely with a strong focus on a positive safety culture for all involved.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Embrace Wood strategic purpose, goals, and objectives and translate these into practical concepts relevant to HSE management.
Ensure the project management team and contractors are committed to Wood Safety Shield and life-saving rules.
Develop and monitor leading indicators and performance metrics at the project level and provide monthly and quarterly feedback to the project management
Ensure an effective HSE leadership engagement at the project level including regular site visit, safety moments, safety townhalls, HSE meetings participations.
Develop HSE documentation including plans, procedures, and SOPs to support the projects, where required
Ensure compliance with local regulations and client HSE requirements.
Implement a robust contractor management process in line with Wood and Client requirements.
Implement an effective Emergency preparedness and response plan aligned with Client emergency response protocols.
Ensure a robust incident management process is implemented and lead/participate in incident investigations as appropriate.
Ensure effective lessons learned process, knowledge sharing, and best practices are in place and cascaded to all employees and contractors.
Ensure an effective injury case management process is in place and followed by all contractor organisations.
Ensure an effective incentives scheme-programme is implemented among contractor organisations including the monthly Shield nomination.
Ensure a robust HSE compliance assurance in place covering all contractor organisations including inspections, self-verification, audits and performance reviews are carried out.
Drive a positive safety culture and safety ownership via effective engagement with various stakeholders, driving campaigns and new HSE initiatives.
Encourage HSE observations including unsafe act and unsafe conditions reporting.
Develop and rollout a project specific HSE training matrix based on the scope of work risk profile including but not limited to HSE orientation, risk management, line of fire, dynamic risk assessment, safety leadership, driving safety, IOGP LSRs, situational awareness etc.
Establish and lead a team of HSE personnel working across multiple project and contractor organisations.
Ensure HSE is built into design, fabrication, construction and commissioning phases of the projects.
Teach problem solving, creative thinking and project planning skills to less experienced staff.
Provide guidance and training to the team as well as construction contractor personnel.
Create and maintain a network of subject matter expertsWORKING RELATIONSHIPS:Internal:
Provide HSE interface and maintain effective relationships with other contributors to the project.
Guides and directs project team and functional support teams as required on HSE aspects of delivery
Interface and coordinate with Operational and/or Contract Management to ensure delivery of operational goals.External:
Primary HSE point of contact for client and all contractors.
Establishes and maintains a positive and effective customer relationship.
Creates strong relationships with key stakeholders including Clients Offshore Operations Team.LEVEL OF INFLUENCE & DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY:
Actions and decisions have a significant influence on the Safety, and welfare of the project team, including contractors and client personnel.
Work is performed under general direction and is reviewed for conformance with policies and regulatory requirements.

BSc, BEng or equivalent with extensive relevant experience.
Minimum of 15 years relevant experience in the oil and gas industry.Knowledge, skills and experience:
Experience of FEED / Detailed Design project phases.
Experience of HSE Management during Construction and Commissioning phases.
Demonstrable balance of industrial experience at a relevant level and position.
Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred.
Demonstrable knowledge of HSE standards and legal requirements.
Experience of working in and managing HSE Management systems/ environment.
Supervisory or direct management experience of more junior staff members.
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent planning and organisational skills.
Confident self-starter who can work independently.
