The Safety (HSE) Manager will oversee and manage the health, safety, and environmental performance across all company projects. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and industry best practices. This position plays a crucial role in creating a culture of safety across the organization, minimizing risks, and promoting a safe working environment for all employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain the company's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify and address potential hazards.
Ensure compliance with all relevant local and international safety regulations, standards, and guidelines.
Lead and conduct safety training sessions for employees and subcontractors, ensuring all personnel are adequately trained in safety protocols.
Investigate accidents, near-misses, and safety violations, preparing reports with recommendations for corrective actions.
Monitor and report on safety performance across all ongoing projects, maintaining comprehensive records.
Coordinate emergency response plans and drills to ensure readiness for potential incidents.
Ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment across all worksites.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to integrate safety into all phases of construction projects.
Stay up to date with changes in safety legislation and best practices, ensuring the company remains compliant.
Preparation of Required HSE documents for tenders submission.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field .
NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent safety certification required.
OSHAD Certified
Minimum of [10] years of experience in safety management, preferably in the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of local and international safety regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001).
Proven ability to lead safety initiatives and promote a safety culture within the organization.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to conduct training, presentations, and safety audits.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Risk Management: Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments, implement corrective actions, and prioritize safety concerns on worksites.
Safety Audits and Inspections: Capability to carry out regular safety inspections and audits, ensuring compliance with HSE regulations and identifying any gaps or hazards.
Emergency Response Planning: Familiarity with emergency response plans and procedures, as well as conducting drills and ensuring preparedness.
Additional Requirements:
Valid driver's license.
Ability to work on construction sites, including in challenging environments.
Familiarity with construction-related safety equipment and technologies.
