:The HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Assistant is responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures within the facade company. This role ensures compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards, promoting a safe and healthy work environment for all employees and stakeholders. The HSE Assistant will assist in conducting safety audits, training programs, incident investigations, and reporting to enhance safety performance across all projects and operations.Key Responsibilities:HSE Compliance and Support
Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining HSE policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with local, national, and international regulations.
Support the HSE Manager in ensuring compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation and standards.
Maintain and update HSE documentation, including safety plans, risk assessments, method statements, and safety data sheets.
Safety Audits and Inspections
Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with HSE standards.
Assist in the preparation and review of inspection reports, highlighting areas of concern and recommending corrective actions.
Follow up on corrective actions to ensure timely completion and effectiveness.
Training and Development
Assist in organizing and conducting HSE training programs, inductions, and toolbox talks for employees and subcontractors.
Ensure all personnel are adequately trained in safety procedures, emergency response, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain training records and certifications, ensuring compliance with HSE training requirements.
Incident Reporting and Investigation
Assist in the investigation of accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending preventive measures.
Maintain incident records and prepare detailed reports for review by the HSE Manager and senior management.
Support the development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
Safety Communication and Reporting
Assist in the development and distribution of HSE communication materials, including safety bulletins, newsletters, and notices.
Support the HSE Manager in preparing HSE performance reports, statistics, and presentations for management review.
Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between site personnel, management, and subcontractors on HSE matters.
Emergency Response and Preparedness
Assist in the development and maintenance of emergency response plans and procedures for site operations.
Conduct emergency drills and simulations to ensure readiness and effectiveness of emergency response teams.
Maintain emergency equipment and supplies, ensuring they are readily available and in good working condition.
Environmental Management
Support the implementation of environmental management programs, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and best practices.
Assist in monitoring and reporting on environmental performance, including waste management, energy use, and emissions.
Participate in environmental audits and assessments, identifying opportunities for improvement and sustainability initiatives.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Education: A degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. Certification in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is a plus.
Experience: 1-2 years of experience in health, safety, and environmental roles, preferably within the construction or facade industry.
Knowledge: Familiarity with HSE regulations, standards, and best practices relevant to the construction and facade industry.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in HSE software and tools (e.g., incident management systems, safety management software).
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, concise reports and presentations.
