We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced

Housekeeping Supervisor

to join our team in Halifax, Nova Scotia. As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you will oversee the housekeeping staff and ensure that all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort. This role requires strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities:



Supervise and support housekeeping staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management. Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure they meet established cleanliness and maintenance standards. Assign tasks to housekeeping staff and ensure timely completion of duties. Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as needed. Train new housekeeping staff on proper cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and hotel policies. Address and resolve guest complaints or concerns related to housekeeping services. Collaborate with other departments (e.g., front desk, maintenance) to ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Prepare and submit reports on housekeeping activities, including room status and maintenance issues. Perform cleaning duties as needed during peak periods or staff shortages.

Qualifications:



Minimum of

4 years of experience

in the hotel industry is mandatory, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, cleaning techniques, and sanitation standards. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment. High level of attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Post-secondary education in hospitality, tourism, or a related field is an asset.

Employment Requirements (Based on NOC 62024):



Completion of secondary school is required. Post-secondary education in hospitality or a related field is an asset. Previous experience in the hotel industry is required. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Proficiency in English (written and spoken); additional languages are an asset.
