Aldar Academies are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant for Bateen World Academy commencing Academic Year 2024-2025. Al Bateen Academy is located in the center of the city of Abu Dhabi and is a hugely popular school based in a vibrant community. The school is a high achieving British and IB World School (Years 7 to 13) easily exceeding IB Diploma global averages year on year and achieving outstanding I/GCSE results. The school recently expanded into primary years, starting with FS2 to Year 3, and developed this year to include a full primary provision, FS2 to Year 6. The Primary Years Programme (PYP) is an exciting addition and provides the community with an all through school experience from FS1 to Year 13 offering PYP, UK and IB Diploma options. Minimum Qualifications
Two-year diploma degree in Education or/ Special Education or/ to have a high school diploma with a Special Education training program
Minimum Experience
Experience of at least 2 years in the same field
Job Specific Knowledge & Skills
English language skills or language applied in the school curriculum and information technology.
Knowledge of UAE Ministry of Education and ADEK regulations

General Responsibilities: With the School Staff
Assist school in achieving its overall vision and strategic intentions and to contribute to the achievement of relevant targets as set out in the schools improvement plan and self-evaluation form
Comply with regulations pertaining to health and safety at work legislation and adhere to school policies relating to safe working practice and equal opportunities regulations
Comply with the schools Performance Management Policy ensuring challenging annual targets are set and to fulfil the role of performance management reviewer if directed to do so by the Principal
Engage in annual training linked to child protection, safeguarding and health and safety together with all training deemed appropriate for the purpose of school improvement or performance management
Comply with the schools staff dress code at all times including the wearing of photo ID / lanyard
Comply with the schools computer Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) at all times
Attend all staff briefings
Sign out and sign in at relevant school reception if off site at any point during the normal working day
With the Student
To develop an understanding of the Additional Educational Needs (AEN) /special Educational Needs of the student/s concerned
To take into account the student/s special needs and ensure their access to the lesson and its content through appropriate clarification, explanations, equipment and materials
To build and maintain successful relationships with student(s), treat them consistently, with respect and consideration
To help reinforce learning
To help promote independent learning
To assist students with physical needs
To help students record work in an appropriate way
To develop study and organisational skills.
To help keep the students on task and to build motivation
To model good practice
To help build the student/s confidence and enhance self-esteem
To maintain liaison with parents regarding student(s) performance
With the Teacher
To have formal and informal meetings with regard to Teaching and Learning plans for the lesson/activities
To prepare materials and resources as required
To prepare students beforehand for a task
To work on differentiated activities with identified groups
To support the teacher in implementing specific teaching techniques
To supervise practical tasks
To be involved in keeping records on evaluating the progress of identified students
