Directed-Energy Research Centre
We are seeking an experienced High Power Vacuum Sources Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in high power electromagnetics, particle simulations, and vacuum technologies, including vacuum systems and components. The role requires practical experience in a vacuum environment and the ability to conduct experiments and analyze data. Their tasks will support the experimental capabilities and the research and development programs at DERC.

As a High Power Vacuum Sources Engineer you will perform activities such as:
- Design, develop and test high power vacuum sources and components.
- Conduct electromagnetic and particle simulations to optimize the performance of high-power vacuum sources and components.
- Work closely with the rest of the team to ensure the integration of high-power vacuum systems into larger projects.
- Develop and implement testing procedures for high power vacuum sources and components.
- Analyze experimental data to troubleshoot problems and improve performance.
- Collaborate with other scientists and engineers to develop new high-power vacuum technologies and applications.
- Maintain accurate documentation of experiments and test results.
- Other duties related to the position.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of electromagnetic and particle simulations.
- Experience with software tools such as COMSOL, CST, and/or ANSYS.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a vacuum environment and conduct experiments in a laboratory setting.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Use of CAD software is a great plus.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s or master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in engineering, Physics or related field.
- At least 3 years of practical experience in high power electromagnetics and vacuum technologies, including vacuum systems and components.
