Job Title: Shop Helper

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and organized Shop Helper to assist our team in maintaining a clean, efficient, and customer-focused environment in our retail store. The Shop Helper will be responsible for performing various tasks to support the daily operations of the store, including maintaining inventory, processing customer transactions, and ensuring excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing merchandise on shelves and in displays
• Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning displays
• Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including operating a cash register and handling returns/exchanges
• Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, addressing concerns, and making recommendations
• Assist with inventory management, including counting inventory, tracking stock levels, and reporting discrepancies
• Restock shelves and replenish inventory as needed
• Assist with visual merchandising and displays, including setting up promotional displays and arranging product displays
• Maintain accurate records of sales, inventory, and customer transactions
• Participate in visual merchandising efforts to maintain a visually appealing store environment
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous retail experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
• Basic math skills and accuracy with cash handling
• Ability to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with point-of-sale systems and cash handling procedures
• Knowledge of retail industry practices and procedures
• Basic computer skills
