The Role : Overseeing heavy machines and equipment sales operations, including managing supplier coordination, local sales teams and customer relations, whilst at the same time actively overseeing and managing the growth of the heavy machines and equipment customer base by strategically driving business development efforts to secure new customers and increase sales. Key Responsibilities: Strategy Development: \xe2\x80\xa2 Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for the group\'s heavy machines and equipment sales and operations, aligned with the overall organizational goals and objectives; \xe2\x80\xa2 Identify opportunities for business growth, market expansion, and operational improvements within the heavy machines and equipment division; and \xe2\x80\xa2 Conduct regular market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends, customer demands, and competitor activities. Sales and Operations \xe2\x80\xa2 Develop and execute effective sales and operations strategies; \xe2\x80\xa2 Identify and develop target customer segments, and sales channels to maximize revenue generation; \xe2\x80\xa2 Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers, dealers, and industry partners to drive sales growth; \xe2\x80\xa2 Effectively manage sales teams including developing and monitoring KPIs; \xe2\x80\xa2 Monitor sales performance, analyse market trends, and make recommendations for sales optimization and revenue enhancement; \xe2\x80\xa2 Provide input on pricing strategies, product positioning, and market differentiation to gain a competitive edge; \xe2\x80\xa2 Monitor and report sales revenue and performance metrics; \xe2\x80\xa2 Develop and implement strategies to optimize rental operations of the heavy machines and equipment fleet, including pricing, contract management, customer service and fleet utilisation/expansion; \xe2\x80\xa2 Ensure efficient and effective utilization of resources, including fleet, personnel, and facilities; \xe2\x80\xa2 Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including workshops, suppliers, marketing and customer service to deliver solutions that meet customer needs; \xe2\x80\xa2 Implement continuous improvement initiatives and performance milestones to optimize processes, machinery performance and business development strategies. \xe2\x80\xa2 Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve operational efficiency and productivity; and \xe2\x80\xa2 Monitor and report on customer account activity and provide regular updates to senior management; \xe2\x80\xa2 Work collaboratively to promote innovation, operational excellence and best practices; \xe2\x80\xa2 Participate in industry conferences, seminars, and networking events to expand knowledge and professional network; and \xe2\x80\xa2 Regularly travel to operational territories to provide strategic and operational leadership to local teams and generate sales opportunities with new and existing customers. Financial & Stock Management: \xe2\x80\xa2 Develop and manage the budget for the heavy machines and equipment division, ensuring cost control and revenue generation. \xe2\x80\xa2 Monitor financial performance, analyse variances, and take corrective actions as needed. \xe2\x80\xa2 Collaborate with the finance department to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with financial policies. \xe2\x80\xa2 Create and implement appropriate forecasting, ordering and budgeting systems to ensure efficient and sustainable stocking and supply of heavy machines and equipment; and \xe2\x80\xa2 Collaborate with warehouse teams to manage stock and regularly conduct audits. Supplier Management \xe2\x80\xa2 Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate contracts, ensure timely delivery of machines and equipment and maintain strong relationships ensuring trust between parties; and \xe2\x80\xa2 Collaborate on strategies for mutual growth and efficiency, including forecasting, budgeting and training; \xe2\x80\xa2 Act as primary point of contact between the local operations and the suppliers; and \xe2\x80\xa2 Collaborate with the suppliers to ensure machinery needs meet performance and technical standards. Risk Management \xe2\x80\xa2 Identify and mitigate risks associated with heavy machines and equipment operations, including financial and safety risks; and \xe2\x80\xa2 Implement appropriate control measures and ensure compliance with risk management policies and procedures. Reporting and Documentation \xe2\x80\xa2 Maintain accurate records and documentation on all sales activities related to the supply of heavy machines and equipment; and \xe2\x80\xa2 Prepare regular reports on financial performance, forecasting, ordering and business development opportunities and progress.
Requirements Key Competencies \xe2\x80\xa2 Bachelor\'s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field. \xe2\x80\xa2 Proven experience in a senior management role overseeing heavy machines operations, sales, marketing, and fleet rental services. Minimum of ten (10) years experience required, with first-hand knowledge of Komatsu heavy machines and equipment is a must. \xe2\x80\xa2 Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others and effectively collaborate and communicate; \xe2\x80\xa2 Exceptional strategic thinking, sales acumen, and marketing skills. \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, financial management, and pricing strategies. \xe2\x80\xa2 Proficiency in using relevant software and systems for fleet management, sales, marketing, and rental operations. \xe2\x80\xa2 Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement, achieve operational excellence, meet sales targets, and optimize fleet rental utilization. \xe2\x80\xa2 Willingness to travel regularly and for extended periods of time.
