Health and Safety Officer
Position: Health and Safety Officer
Reports To: Project Manager / Operations Manager
Key Responsibilities:
• Health & Safety Compliance:
• Ensure the company's compliance with UAE health and safety regulations.
• Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures according to legal and company standards.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of the workplace, equipment, and practices.
• Risk Assessment:
• Perform risk assessments and enforce preventive measures.
• Identify potential hazards and determine ways to reduce risks.
• Prepare and review risk assessments, method statements, and other safety-related documents.
• Incident Management:
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine the root cause.
• Prepare incident reports and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
• Coordinate with relevant authorities and ensure timely reporting of incidents.
• Training & Awareness:
• Conduct safety training sessions and workshops for employees.
• Promote a safety culture within the organization by raising awareness of safety practices.
• Ensure all employees are familiar with emergency procedures and protocols.
• Documentation & Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, risk assessments, incident reports, and other safety documentation.
• Prepare regular reports on safety performance and present findings to management.
• Emergency Preparedness:
• Develop and implement emergency response plans.
• Coordinate and conduct emergency drills to ensure readiness.
• Act as a point of contact for all safety-related issues during emergencies.
• Compliance Monitoring:
• Monitor compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Liaise with external agencies, such as labor departments and insurance providers, to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Vehicle Safety:
• Ensure safe driving practices are followed by all company drivers.
• Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Certification: NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) certification is mandatory.
• Experience: Minimum of 05-03 years of experience as a Health and Safety Officer, preferably in Contracting,
• License: Valid UAE driving license is required.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of UAE health and safety regulations.
Skills:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
