Job Position: Health and Safety Officer
The Health and Safety Officer is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for all employees, students, and visitors at School. The role ensures compliance with health and safety regulations, monitors safety practices, and takes corrective actions where necessary to protect the well-being of all individuals on campus.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Ensure that health and safety regulations, procedures, and codes of practice are consistently applied across all school areas.
2.Monitor the health and safety standards throughout the school and take positive corrective actions when needed to maintain a safe environment for staff.
3.Ensure communication with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Ministry of Education (MOE) is done effectively regarding health-related incidents and measures taken.
4.Collaborate with the school clinic to ensure that all student medical files are complete, including vaccination records and accident-related documentation.
5.Monitor and ensure the efficiency and compliance of fire extinguishers across the school, including checking expiration dates and ensuring that all fire safety equipment is operational.
6.Organize regular fire drills to ensure readiness and compliance with fire safety protocols.
7.Conduct regular health and safety training for staff and students to ensure awareness and preparedness for emergency situations.
8.Ensure all health and safety standards and regulations are met in accordance with local laws, MOE guidelines, and industry best practices.
9.Prepare and submit regular health and safety reports to the school administration, detailing safety audits, incidents, and any corrective actions taken.
10.Develop, print, and display evacuation plans throughout the school premises for quick reference.
