Head of Warehouse Inventory Logistics
We are looking for Head of Warehouse, Inventory & Logistics (WIL). This role will be responsible for all aspects of the warehousing, inventory & logistical depts of the business. This role would report directly to the VP SCM of the company and would have full control and responsibility for these functions with the goal of managing the entire order cycle to ensure complete customer satisfaction and maintain company profitability. This position is a hands-on role that will require a significant investment in the development of processes and procedures, hiring and training the right staff, organizing the warehouse function, and helping the organization develop a world-class experience for the End Customer. Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic planning: The Head of WIL first works with Leadership to develop a companyaEUR(TM)s short- and long-term goals and then plans WIL strategically to enable the company to achieve those goals. The strategic logistics planning usually involves setting supply chain KPIs for productivity, speed, and order accuracy (among other KPIs), analyzing data collected over time, and implementing process improvements wherever possible. In addition, the Head of WIL is responsible for preparing logistics operations for expected challenges (such as spikes in seasonal demand), and for building a resilient supply chain that is strong and stable enough to withstand unforeseen challenges (such as supply chain blockages or the COVID-19 pandemic). A strong link into Group to align with best practice and standardization. Inventory and Warehouse management: Monitoring inventory and managing warehouse processes can be a large part of the Head of WIL's responsibility. In order for the supply chain to run smoothly, the Head of WIL must ensure that inventory levels are satisfactory and that SKUs are organized and easily accessible. The Head of WIL must also monitor standard warehousing and fulfillment procedures such as receiving, picking, and packing, for speed, efficiency, and quality of throughput. Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency. Experience in utilizing inventory management software (IMS) and/or a warehouse management system (WMS) to automate and simplify these functions. The Head of WIL is expected to master the software and work with the business to optimize operations. Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization. Relationship and Stakeholder Engagement: The role of Head of WIL is highly collaborative in nature, both internally and externally. As a member of the SCM Senior Management Team, the Head of WIL has to be able to communicate and connect with both Seniors and Warehouse employees and balance the demands of each. Externally, the Head of WIL acts as a liaison between their brand and the companies that make, ship, and deliver their products. This aspect of the role is absolutely critical, as well-maintained business relationships with manufacturers, suppliers, and carriers create strong, mutually beneficial partnerships that often result in cost-savings. The Head of WIL and the respective Teams, will be required to support the Commodity Teams and the SCM Program Managers. Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including, Facilities and Operations teams, to ensure alignment on the Commodity strategy and overall business objectives. A aEUR~hooks inaEUR(TM) approach with the Group and their respective Teams to ensure best practice and standardization is consistent. Good influencing skills and able to manage a variety of relationships both horizontally and vertically. Be a change agent for Supply Chain. Team Leadership and Development: Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Supply Chain professionals focused on Warehousing, Inventory and Logistics. Foster a collaborative and innovative environment that encourages continuous improvement and professional growth. Support the Commodity Director & VP SCM with wider business initiatives. Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of self, staff and visitors. Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of the WIL strategies and team performance. Manage risk proactively within the Supply Chain incorporating the use of risk registers and regular reviews with the WIL Management Team. Provide regular updates to Senior management on WIL activities, achievements and areas for improvement. Requirements:
MasteraEUR(TM)s Degree (Preferred): A BacheloraEUR(TM)s or MasteraEUR(TM)s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g. CIPS, CPSM / APICS). 10+ years of experience in a senior procurement role with a focus on strategic sourcing and Commodity management. Aero / Defence exposure and experience would be highly beneficial. A good understanding of Export Control (including EAR) and INCOTERMS associated with moving material within the Aero / Defence Industry. Knowledge of laws, regulations and ISO requirements. Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams. In-depth knowledge and proven ability to design and execute a supply chain strategy. Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Strategic thinker with the ability to drive change and deliver measurable results. Technical and applied understanding of logistics software and warehouse management systems. Experience and demonstrated performance in Warehouse. Robust analytical and numerical skills. Good presentation skills and be able to confidently present to Senior Management. Experience with Conflict resolution and solution generation. Experience working in Start Up companies. A robust understanding and demonstrated experience with SAP & SAP Ariba. A demonstrated understanding of Inventory Management & Logistics KPIs. Excellent time and organizational management. An excellent and confident communicator. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) & SharePoint. Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices. Experience in Lean / Six Sigma and/or Black belt trained. Understanding and supporting the SIOP process. Additional Information:
The role may also require National (30%) and International (30%) travel where directed by the VP SCM, Commodity Director or governed by operational demands. Friday, working from home (WFH). Physical Requirements:
