Reporting to: Provost and Vice Chancellor Academic The Head of STCW Compliance is a unique and challenging role that will utilise the post holders thorough understanding of STCW regulatory requirements within a maritime education and training setup to ensure the Academy's compliance. You will be responsible for special projects, as directed by the Provost and Vice Chancellor Academic in translating STCW regulations into operational language, developing policies and negotiating solutions of business continuity. Qualification, Skills and Experience Essential: Master Mariner or Chief Engineer Unlimited Certificate of Competency. Bachelor's degree holder in a relevant field. 5 years of industry experience with the responsibility of STCW regulatory compliance from an Administration or MET perspective. Business level written and spoken English. Ability to work within a team, across all cultures. Ability to work under pressure with the intent to complete tasks promptly and efficiently. Desirable: MSc or equivalent Master level qualification in relevant subject. Familiarity with the UAE's cultural and educational context, including national standards for education (CAA standards).
