Job Description

ROLE SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to oversee our Speech and Language Therapy Department. The Head of the Department will focus on providing high-quality, evidence-based therapy for children with communication disorders, while also building and innovating the department's offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct therapy sessions for children with communication disorders, including language delays and speech sound disorders, and address feeding disorders alongside communication needs to deliver holistic care.
• Assess each patient's developmental level of functioning and create individualized therapy plans that include interventions for language development, speech impairments, and alternative communication (e.g., Augmentative and Alternative Communication - AAC).
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (e.g., Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Applied Behavior Analysis) to ensure cohesive care plans that support language and social development.
• Lead and mentor the Speech and Language Therapy team, providing clinical guidance on complex cases and fostering a collaborative, excellence-driven environment.
• Manage daily operations, including team scheduling, caseload assignments, and resource optimization, while establishing and maintaining departmental protocols aligned with best practices and evidence-based approaches.
• Lead initiatives to expand Speech and Language Therapy services, including group therapy, school-readiness programs, and social communication groups.
• Build and maintain partnerships with external stakeholders (e.g., schools, early intervention centers) to enhance referrals and broaden service offerings.
• Ensure all therapies and Speech and Language Therapy sessions meet the highest professional, ethical, and legal standards.
• Represent the department at internal and external meetings, promoting services and contributing to organizational strategy.
• Maintain accurate records of patient contacts and communicate with primary caregivers regarding therapy plans and other therapeutic interventions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education:
• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (ASHA or equivalent standards).
• Specialization in pediatric language and communication disorders is preferred.
• Experience:
• Minimum 10 years' experience as a Pediatric Speech-Language Therapist, with extensive experience in language development and communication disorders.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience, overseeing clinical teams and departmental operations.
• Proven expertise in managing complex language and communication challenges.
• Certifications/Training:
• Advanced certifications in speech, language, and communication development techniques (e.g., PROMPT, Hanen Programs, AAC systems).
• Additional training in SOS feeding therapy and sensory integration therapy is a plus.
• Skills:
• Strong leadership and team management abilities, focusing on collaboration and clinical excellence.
• Expert knowledge in diagnosing and treating a range of communication disorders.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work effectively with families, clinicians, and multidisciplinary teams.

Note: We offer a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED30,000.00 - AED35,000.00 per month
