This role ensures alignment with the overall organizational strategy, government priorities, and relevant performance management frameworks. The position requires collaboration with stakeholders, monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs), and driving initiatives that foster innovation and organizational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Planning & Alignment
Develop and implement the sections strategic plans in alignment with the organizations overall strategy and government mandates.
Conduct periodic reviews and updates of the strategic plan to reflect changing priorities or new opportunities.
Ensure the alignment of section-level plans with organizational objectives and performance targets.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure the cascade and integration of strategic goals throughout the organization.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
Define and monitor KPIs to measure the sections progress toward strategic objectives.
Prepare and present performance reports to senior management, highlighting progress, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
Oversee the implementation of performance management frameworks and tools within the section.
Strategic Initiative Management
Identify, prioritize, and oversee the implementation of strategic initiatives and projects within the section.
Conduct feasibility studies, impact assessments, and risk analyses for proposed initiatives.
Ensure that strategic initiatives are executed on time, within scope, and achieve intended outcomes.
Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure collaboration on strategic goals.
Represent the section in strategy-related meetings, workshops, and forums.
Facilitate communication and alignment with other sections and departments to promote a unified approach to strategy execution.
Risk Management
Identify and assess risks that may impact the achievement of strategic objectives.
Develop and implement risk mitigation plans in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
Research & Innovation
Conduct research, benchmarking, and environmental scanning to support the development of evidence-based strategies.
Promote a culture of innovation by identifying opportunities for process improvements and new initiatives.
Leadership & Team Development
Lead and mentor the strategy team, fostering a high-performance culture and continuous professional development.
Conduct performance appraisals, identify training needs, and create development plans for team members.
Promote collaboration, accountability, and adaptability within the team.
Governance & Compliance
Ensure that all strategic initiatives comply with organizational policies, procedures, and applicable government regulations.
Support audits, reviews, and evaluations related to strategy and performance.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 7-12 years of relevant experience in strategy development, implementation, and performance management.
Working now for a federal government.
At least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Strategic Management, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
Proven ability to deliver performance reports to federal government entities.
Advanced knowledge of performance management systems and KPIs.
Proficiency in strategic frameworks and tools (e.g., Balanced Scorecard, KPIs, SWOT, PESTLE).
Professional certifications in strategy or performance management, such as Balanced Scorecard Professional (BSP), Strategy Management Professional (SMP), or equivalent, are preferred.
