SynopsisIf our 2024 results haven't excited you enough, hopefully the opportunity to lead the Network Planning team to continue to deliver results for 2025 and beyond will. In this role you will lead a team of Network Planning professionals to develop and implement Etihads network strategy, and to build economically optimised long term and short term network plans for the passenger businesses. You and your team will monitor and manage route and system profitability to contribute to the delivery of Etihads overall financial targets, proactively identifying and proposing value add network initiatives that will contribute to our 2030 growth strategy.AccountabilitiesLong term network development
Agree on and adhere to specific commercial design principles that support company profitability targets, and ensure that network plans are reviewed and approved by all relevant stakeholders
Deliver economically optimized long term network plans (i.e., budget, 5-year plan) for the passenger business, delivering on planned/budgeted ASK outcomes, maximising aircraft utilisation and contributing to the achievement of company profitability targets
Short term network development
Deliver an economically and operationally optimized current season network plan for the passenger business, maximising aircraft utilisation whilst working with the Network Scheduling group to ensure that the schedule is operationally feasible and contributing to the achievement of both company profitability and operational reliability targets
Work with the Scheduling Group to maximise results from monthly close-in re-fleeting processRoute profitability / Network Committee
Broader leadership accountabilities
Work with Finance to produce timely and accurate route and system level profitability reports and use these reports to drive route-specific action plans with the broader commercial teams to improve route and system level performance
Work with Procurement to engage with Etihads airport partners to conclude financial support packages to improve route profitability
Lead the development of the bi-weekly Network Committee & follow up on open action items
Education & Experience
Bachelors degree, preferably Business or Engineering (post-grad. qualifications an advantage)
Minimum of 12 years experience within a network function(s) at a reputable airline(s) & Minimum 5 years experience leading the network development function at a reputable airline, with a proven ability to manage cross-functional projects with a high degree of interaction and communication across all levels in the organization, and to engage, motivate and develop a high performing team
