In your role as Head of Finance, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, managing both the Treasury, Commercial, and Accounts divisions. This role is pivotal in ensuring effective financial planning, risk management, efficiency of financial processes, compliance with regulatory standards, and the integrity of the organization's financial records while supporting strategic initiatives and organizational growth.
What you will do:
Financial Strategy and Planning:
Prepare and present financial forecasts, budgets, and performance reports to the executive team.
Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's objectives.
Treasury and Cash Flow Management:
Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.
Manage cashflow strategies and banking relationships to optimize returns
Project Finance and Commercial Oversight:
Evaluate and manage financial aspects of new projects, including feasibility studies and funding requirements.
Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and financial performance.
Accounting and Compliance:
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with local regulations and standards.
Oversee accounts payable, bookkeeping, and VAT filings.
Stay updated with local and international accounting standards and regulations (e.g., IFRS, Corporate Tax).
Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate financial risks through effective internal controls and insurance coverage.
Conduct regular financial audits and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead and mentor finance team members, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Set performance objectives, provide regular feedback, and support professional development.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with other department heads to support overall company goals and objectives.
Maintain relationships with external partners, including auditors, regulators, and financial institutions.
About you:
Bachelor's degree in accounting; Certificates such as CPA, CMA, or FMVA is a plus.
Proven Experience in Construction/Contracting is preferred.
10+ years of experience in accounting and financial reporting, with at least 6 years in a supervisory role.
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft excel.
Strong knowledge of local and international accounting standards and tax regulations.
Fluency in English is a must.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and guide a team effectively.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy of financial data.
Effective organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with internal and external stakeholders.
