The Department of ICT & IT Security at the American University of Sharjah seeks to hire the Head of Enterprise IT Infrastructure to lead, manage, and maintain the Enterprise IT Infrastructure and services. As the Head of Enterprise IT Infrastructure, you will oversee the design, implementation, management, and support of the University IT Infrastructure. You will play a critical role in aligning the technology solutions with the University\'s business objectives, delivering enterprise-level technology solutions, and maintaining robust and scalable IT Infrastructure.Job Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the overall strategy in alignment with the Executive Director of ICT for IT infrastructure, systems & cloud services in alignment with the University\'s objectives.

• Provide visionary leadership to the teams (Systems, Data center management, Cloud, Networks, Telecommunications, Architecture, Research Computing, Endpoint computing), staying abreast of industry trends and evaluating emerging technology infrastructure for potential adoption.
• Engage in collaborative efforts with senior management to determine business requirements & Transformation initiatives and ensure that IT infrastructure supports and enhances the University\'s operations.
• Provide mentorship, guidance, and an environment that fosters collaboration and innovation in a team of IT professionals.
• Develop and maintain a high-performance culture within the IT infrastructure team, ensuring alignment with university goals.
• Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of IT Infrastructure and ensuring secure infrastructure, high reliability, performance, and availability.
• Develop a highly skilled and effective workforce by recruiting, training, and developing team members.
• Oversee the selection, implementation, and optimization of Enterprise IT Infrastructure, ensuring that they meet Business requirements and deliver value.
• Defining a technology lifecycle management roadmap in collaboration with stakeholders is key to ensuring that investments in technology are aligned with university strategic goals.
• Establish and enforce governance policies and standards for infrastructure services to ensure security, compliance, and optimal performance.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for enterprise IT infrastructure, regulating reporting on effectiveness and efficiency.
• Deliver high-quality IT services by collaborating with Enterprise Applications, Educational Technology, and Information Security teams.
• Work with key stakeholders to understand business needs and prioritize technology solutions that add value to the university.
• Support senior management in developing the IT Infrastructure budget, Developing yearly roadmap, optimizing resource allocation and ensuring cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Bachelor\'s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of fifteen years of relevant experience in Enterprise IT Infrastructure.
• Proven experience in a senior leadership role overseeing enterprise Infrastructure.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to align technology solutions with business objectives.
• Demonstrated success in leading Enterprise IT Infrastructure and services.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Knowledge of industry best practices, emerging trends, and technologies in Enterprise Applications and digital services.
• Experience with Cloud Platforms ( Google, Microsoft, Oracle (or) AWS).
• Familiarity with Enterprise Technology Architecture, Cloud, Systems Management, Virtualization, Backups, Disaster Recovery, Networking & Telecommunications Technologies, Automation, CCTV, project management and Vendor Management.
• UAE national preferred

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• A master\'s degree in a related field (Computer Science/Engineering).
• Certifications in related fields (Enterprise architecture, PMP, Cloud, ITIL, etc.)
• Strong Experience in leading the Virtualization, Cloud, Backup, DR, and Network services.
• Knowledge & experience in the following technologies: Azure/AWS Cloud, Google Workspace, Vmware - Virtualization, Network Appliance - Storage, Computing - UCS, Backup - Veeam & Cohesity, Automation Tools - Ansible, Networking & Wireless - Cisco/Ruckus, Telecommunications - Avaya.

The candidate should be available full-time on-site during AUS main working hours (Monday to Thursday, 8 AM to 6 PM) but is also expected to be ready to work at flexible times when needed.We are looking for a candidate ready to hit the ground running with minimal training.How to Apply
