Purpose of the Role: The primary role of the Head of Department is to provide leadership focused on learning. This involves leading, managing, and developing learning within the department to ensure students achieve remarkable learning outcomes. Quality Assurance: Establishing learning-focused targets, observing lessons, identifying learning, and ensuring all decisions are focused on learning.
Management of Information: Maintaining accurate learning-related information, collecting and analyzing data, and ensuring effective communication.
Communications: Disseminating learning-related information, representing department views, and fostering effective communication with stakeholders.
Management of Resources: Efficiently managing physical resources, staff, and timetables to support learning.
Teaching: Undertaking teaching responsibilities, providing exemplary teaching, and contributing to the school community.
