The Head of Architecture and Placemaking reports directly to the Business Unit Director and partners with the Studio Leaders.Role accountabilities:
Leads the business development in the office, spends 50% of time developing business relationships and project opportunities.
Ensures that the design culture is assimilated within the office, spends 50% of time working directly with Studio Leaders to ensure design quality across all projects.
Assists Business Unit Director with Middle East strategy execution, administration of budgets, resourcing, hiring and office management.
Select, lead and develop the project team, to ensure they have the necessary skills to deliver the project, they understand and are engaged with the project strategy, brief and client requirements, and to manage their delivery of project objectives.
Develop strong, partnering relationships with senior client personnel in order to identify and resolve issues, to identify business opportunities and to influence their decision making; act as the main contributor during client meetings and presentations.
Coach and mentor Architecture & Design professionals to support the development of Arcadis talent pool.
Keep up to date with developments in the industry sector and with technical and legislative developments and seek out opportunities to develop a strong professional profile.
Qualifications & Experience:
Professional Architectural/ Design degree from an appropriate accredited institution.
Successful track record of managing Architectural and Design organizations of similar complexity.
Recognised expert in the professional discipline with well-established industry networks.
Extensive experience working in Middle East.
Excellent relationship builder and business development skills
Track record as an effective communicator and team builder.
Exceptional leadership and organizational effectiveness.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
