We are looking to appoint outstanding Assistant Headteacher (Secondary) for a September 2024 start.GEMS FirstPoint School (FPS) opened in 2014 and is positioned in the heart of The Villa community in Dubai. It is a Premium British Curriculum School, providing an excellent standard of education to around 2000 students from Nursery (aged 2) to Year 13, with exciting plans to expand facilities further in the coming years. Embrace and encourage the ethos and standards of excellence as defined in the GEMS Core Values.
Support the HOS / ELT/ SLT with implementation of all staff related policies, advice on staff needs and views through regular updates.
Support the ELT/SLT in drawing up the agenda for meetings, help implantation / follow up on action points, assist staff liaise with other administrative staff e.g. accountants & administrative officers.
Make substitution and arrange for supply teachers, establish a seamless working relationship with teachers in the learning teaching dynamics.
Co-ordinate with the SLT towards achievement of school improvement targets, and support CPD.
Arrange timetables and work allocation, arrange optimum use of resources and facilities by staff e.g. GLG, labs, multi-purpose/activity rooms & libraries.
Manage long/medium/short term academic plans and monitor progress.
Arrange regular open houses with a focus on developing closer Parental ties.
Interact on a need basis to address say to day problems and issues raised by the Parental community.
Conduct regular staff meetings with academic agendas to develop coordination among teachers & grades.
Oversee the running of external examinations / Inspections, CASE, ACER,PISA, PIRLS etc., and school based academic evaluations.
Ensure the GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct are followed at all times.
Initiate effort and energy beyond the typical workday, where the tasks require additional commitment.
Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
Perform other duties as requested by direct & dotted reporting line managers / supervisors.
