Get the edge you need to succeed with ADCB.We are actively seeking an ambitious professional to join our Commercial Banking team at ADCB to work alongside passionate colleagues who share your ambition to redefine excellence in UAE banking.ADCB Business Groups Description;Treasury & Investments GroupTreasury offers a diverse range of conventional and Islamic banking solutions and is responsible for the Groups funding, investments, and centralised risk management activities. It manages the Banks borrowings, issuance of debt securities, and use of derivatives to mitigate financial risk, while investing in a range of instruments, including green bonds, short-term placements, and corporate and sovereign debt securities.In this role, your key responsibilities include;1. Strategy Management
Direct, develop and implement ADCBs commodity strategy and trading framework in order to maximise profitability whilst effectively managing risk exposures.2. Commodities Product Structuring
Support the structuring of ADCBs commodity products, engaging support and input from the Banks support and delivery channels, sin order that that the Banks products and solutions remain client-focused and market competitive, stay up to date on client requirements and provide appropriate products and stay abreast of market developments/new products.3. Trading Operations Management
Lead and direct ADCBs Commodities trading activity and capabilities, including pricing and structuring of transactions, risk and investment return analysis, overseeing interactions with other desks and departments, in order to maximise the performance and profitability of the Bank.Oversee all aspects of commodity trading risk management and monitoring of exposure limits, taking corrective action as appropriate, in order to assure the quality and integrity of ADCBs trading activitiesOversee the origination and execution of commodity trades and transactions in accordance with ADCBs Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and risk appetite in order to drive profitability.4. Market IntelligenceOversee ongoing market evaluation, due diligence and risk monitoring of the prospective and live commodity trades to ensure that all aspects of risk are appropriately considered and to implement appropriate hedging strategies.5. People ManagementManage self and team in line with ADCBs people management policies, procedures, processes and practices to ensure adherence and to maximise own and employee contribution to business performance. Manage the effective achievement of the teams objectives through setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing the team and providing formal and informal feedback to maximise overall performance, engagement and motivation.6. Budget ManagementContribute to the preparation of the business areas budget and manage and monitor the financial performance against the budget so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon.7. Policies, Processes, Systems and ProceduresRecommend and implement improvements to departmental policies, procedures and processes covering all areas of activity so that all relevant procedural requirements are fulfilled while ensuring that ADCB delivers best-in-class services, products and innovation
Develop, implement and continuously review SOPs and practices for commodity trading to ensure compliance with both internal policy and external regulatory requirements.8. Continuous ImprovementIdentify opportunities to contribute to organisational and departmental change initiatives, programmes and projects taking into account best practice and standards in the business environment.9. Customer ServiceDemonstrate Our Promise and apply the ADCB Service Standards to deliver the Banks required levels of service in all internal and external customer interactions.SkillsThe ideal candidate should have the following experienceAt least 9 years of experience in progressively more complex and responsible roles in commodity trading.Minimum Qualification - First degree in quantitative disciplineKnowledge and Skills -
  • Familiar with industry best practice.
  • Knowledge of local regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Analytical and numerical skills.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Strong knowledge of treasury operations, financial instruments, risk management techniques, and capital markets. * Familiarity with international tax and accounting regulations, cross-border transactions, and foreign exchange strategies.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and people management abilities.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems, such as treasury management systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
