Job Title: Head Chef
Location: Glitch Cafe, Baniyas (Near Lulu Hypermarket)
Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and innovative Head Chef to lead our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating new and exciting recipes, managing daily kitchen operations, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety. As the culinary leader of Glitch Cafe, you will play an important role in shaping our menu and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
• Recipe Development:
• Innovate and create new recipes that align with Glitch Cafe's brand and customer preferences.
• Experiment with ingredients and presentation to keep the menu fresh and exciting.
• Collaborate with the management team to introduce seasonal and special menus.
• Kitchen Management:
• Oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure efficiency and quality.
• Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs to maintain profitability.
• Implement and uphold health and safety standards in the kitchen.
• Team Leadership:
• Recruit, train, and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment.
• Schedule shifts and manage staff performance, providing feedback and professional development opportunities.
• Quality Control:
• Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of taste, presentation, and consistency.
• Conduct regular quality checks and address any issues promptly.
• Customer Interaction:
• Engage with customers to receive feedback and tailor the menu to meet their needs.
• Collaborate with front-of-house staff to enhance the overall dining experience.
• Administrative Duties:
• Maintain accurate records of inventory, expenses, and staff schedules.
• Develop and manage the kitchen budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
• Stay updated with industry trends and incorporate relevant practices into the kitchen.
Qualifications
• Experience:
• Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a senior culinary role, preferably in a busy cafe or restaurant setting.
• Demonstrated ability to create innovative and appealing recipes.
• Education:
• Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred.
• Skills:
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent culinary skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Proficient in kitchen management software and inventory systems.
• Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Exceptional time-management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
