We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Groups and Events Coordinator to join our dynamic team at SO/ Uptown Dubai. As a key member of our events department, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing group events and functions, ensuring exceptional experiences for our clients and guests.
• Manage the entire event lifecycle, from initial client consultation to post-event evaluation
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders
• Create detailed event proposals, including budgets, timelines, and logistics plans
• Coordinate all aspects of event execution, including venue selection, catering, audiovisual equipment, and entertainment
• Oversee on-site event operations, ensuring smooth execution and client satisfaction
• Manage multiple events simultaneously while adhering to deadlines and budget constraints
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless event delivery
• Conduct post-event evaluations and prepare reports for management and clients
• Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate innovative ideas into event planning
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and safety standards for all events
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, or related field
• 3-5 years of experience in event planning or hospitality industry
• Proven track record of successfully planning and executing group events and functions
• Strong knowledge of event planning processes, vendor management, and budgeting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members
• Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with event management software
• Problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet in high-pressure situations
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules
• Knowledge of the hospitality and tourism industry in Dubai and the UAE
• Familiarity with local vendors and suppliers in the region
• Professional certification in event planning (e.g., CMP - Certified Meeting Professional) preferred
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic or other languages is a plus
