Job Summary: The Tax Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all tax-related activities for the organization. This includes ensuring compliance with UAE tax laws and regulations, developing tax strategies, and minimizing tax liabilities. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of UAE tax laws and international tax principles, as well as strong analytical and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Tax Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT and other tax regulations.
• Prepare and file VAT returns, and other tax returns as required.
• Maintain accurate tax records and documentation.
• Liaise with tax authorities and manage tax audits.
• Tax Planning and Strategy:
• Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies and policies.
• Advise management on the impact of new laws on tax liabilities.
• Optimize the company's tax position by identifying tax savings and risks.
• Conduct research and keep abreast of tax law changes.
• Financial Reporting:
• Prepare tax provisions for financial statements.
• Ensure accurate tax accounting and reporting in accordance with relevant standards (e.g., IFRS).
• Collaborate with the finance team on budgeting and forecasting tax expenses.
• Advisory and Support:
• Provide tax advice and support to various business units.
• Conduct training sessions on tax-related matters for employees.
• Support M&A activities by performing tax due diligence.
• Risk Management:
• Identify and manage tax risks.
• Implement internal controls to mitigate tax risks.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of tax risk management strategies.
• Other Duties:
• Manage relationships with external tax advisors and consultants.
• Stay updated with international tax developments and their implications.
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master's degree or professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CTA is preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in tax management, with a focus on VAT and corporate tax in the UAE.
• In-depth knowledge of UAE tax laws and regulations.
• Experience with international tax principles and practices.
• Proficiency in tax software and ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High level of integrity and attention to detail.
