JOB PURPOSE:
To:
a) direct and lead the delivery, design and rollout of DP World's group-wide Enterprise Risk Management programme of activities, projects and frameworks, across all BUs to ensure adequate risk mitigation on DP World's strategy and objectives AND
b) direct and lead the delivery of DP World's group-wide Operational Resilience programme (includes Business Continuity Management, & Crisis Management) across the Group ,to best protect the company's interests, ensure the key risks across the Group are being appropriately managed and providing co-ordination across all functions so that the Group is able to respond to any event or escalating incident that threatens DP World's strategic objectives, reputation or viability.
The SVP of Enterprise Risk and Resilience will partner with Corporate Functions, Regional Leadership and Business Unit Management to provide subject matter expertise to assist in the leadership, innovation, governance, and management necessary to identify, evaluate, mitigate and monitor the Groups' Enterprise Risks and Operational Resilience capabilities.
The SVP of Enterprise Risk and Resilience works globally to understand business objectives and processes in order to build and implement risk and resilience activities that drive the visibility and awareness required for well-informed strategic and operational decisions.
KEY ACCOUNTABIITIES:
• Setting the vision and strategy for the Enterprise Risk and Resilience function working in conjunction with the Chair of the Audit Committee, the Group Chief Internal Audit Officer and other senior leadership across the Group.
• Leadership of Group wide development, implementation and monitoring of DP World Enterprise Risk Management Policy, Framework, and governance oversight.
• Leadership of Group wide development, implementation and monitoring of DP World Business Continuity Management Policy, Framework, and governance oversight.
• Leadership of Group wide development, implementation and monitoring of DP World Crisis Management Policy, Framework, and governance oversight.
• Leadership of Group wide development, implementation and monitoring of DP World Operational Resilience Policy, Framework, and governance oversight.
• Building and leading a highly collaborative and proactive Risk and Resilience function that is able to navigate the increasingly complex business environment that the Group operates in Globally.
• Responsible to direct and mature the function in accordance with DP world Strategic goals and objectives and industry best practice.
• Ensures high-quality service delivery of the function's objectives within reasonable schedules and agreed budgets. Ensures a high standard of professional excellence is maintained in all services and deliverables.
• Ensures the ERM and Operational Resilience Policies and strategies are in compliance with applicable regulation and strategic requirements of the organisation.
• Manage all ERM and Operational Resilience related budgetary responsibilities, ensuring robust financial controls that deliver the best products for the best value for money.
• Act as an adviser to the DPW Board, DPW Audit Committee, Executives, Regional & Divisional CEO's & MD and Group company CEO's.
• Lead and support staff education and training development related to ERM and Operational Resilience.
• Support senior leaders to drive a Risk and Resilience culture across the organisation and ensure the effective operation of Enterprise Risk Management and Operational Resilience.
• Accountable for leading an engaged team, providing direction and promoting collaboration while ensuring they are enabled to carry out the goals and objectives of the business.
• Perform other related duties as assigned .
• Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World's Founder's Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World's Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.
ERM
• Define and lead current and future ERM capabilities across the Group, that are necessary for the department to have strong oversight and processes to monitor and mitigate key Group and Business Unit risks and ensure compliance to industry practice and standards.
• Act as the principal risk advisor to the DP World Audit Committee, the Board and support Senior leaders to drive a risk culture across the organization and ensure the effective operation of Enterprise Risk Management.
• Provide subject matter expertise and support to senior leaders and business managers to execute their risk management and compliance responsibilities and enhance risk management awareness and capabilities across the organisation.
• Direct the development and analysis of risk reporting to the top management, the DPW Executive Risk Committee, the DPW Audit & Risk Committee and the Board to support effective decision making across the Group.
• Direct and oversee the development and maintenance of the risk appetite, risk monitoring and reporting structures, including reporting dashboards and metrics/indicators and supporting the analysis of significant risks and mitigation approaches.
• Ensure risk reporting aligns with organisational performance and strategy reporting, which supports decision making and management oversight at the most senior levels of the organisation.
• Lead the development and implementation of a consistent risk-based methodology and language across the Group.
• Chairs the DPW Executive Risk Committee that oversees the Enterprise Risk Management process and ensures alignment with organisational objectives.
• Lead the risk horizon scanning activities to increase awareness of risks that may affect the Group.
• Direct the delivery of independent and objective risk and control assessments to ensure risks are identified and managed according to the risk appetite.
Operational Resilience
• Lead the performance of the Operational Resilience functions at DP World maintaining industry leading performance on incidents; crisis and continuity capability; and meet agreed SLAs as outlined in resilience strategy. This includes:
+ Business Continuity Management;
+ Crisis Management; and
+ Emergency Response co-ordination
• Develop and lead a best-in-class operational resilience function including hands-on leadership responsibility for delivery of effective Group-wide incident-to-crisis response and business continuity frameworks.
• Direct the development and implementation of the Operational Resilience framework, tools and methodologies to enable the achievement of the DPW Groups strategic objectives.
• Lead the building of awareness and understanding of Operational Resilience across the Group, leading communications, and training campaigns at all levels.
• Responsible for maintaining strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, Corporate Functions, Regional and BU level leadership teams, ensuring that they are provided with relevant, timely and accurate information which informs and directs business decisions.
• Drive the increased coordination of an effective emergency management framework across the Group.
• Provide clear Operational Resilience subject matter expertise to meet the wider strategic objectives of DP World.
• Act as advisor and liaise with Business leadership teams, ensuring good working relationships, clear and firm governance, support, guidance and collaboration on Resilience across the Group.
• Lead the collaboration with key Group stakeholders like Group People, Group HSE, Group Communications and Group Technology teams to ensure full coordination of resilience principles.
• Support Senior Leadership in the preparation for response to major incidents or crises.
• Drive the development and maintenance of up-to-date metrics on Group-wide resilience capability and be able to present in detail up to Group Executive level at any time.
• Capability testing - Direct and oversee the design and execution of the Business Continuity and Crisis Management capability testing programmes across the Group to continuously validate and improve our ability to respond and recover from any disruptive incident and/or crises.
Policy Review and Internal Control Compliance
• Responsible for the review of all Group Policies to ensure all potential conflicts have been identified and resolved and to confirm policies cover the key areas of risk that they are expected to address.
• Monitoring and reporting on the update of internal policies and procedures and controls ensuring consistency with group standards and any regulatory obligations.
• Acts as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that policy compliance issues/concerns within the organisation are being appropriately evaluated, investigated and resolved.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of the internal compliance monitoring program, the Minimum Risks & Controls (MICS) Framework and their related activities.
• Monitors the performance of the internal MICS compliance program and related activities on a continuing basis, taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness. This includes the groups' policy self-assessment program and the annual self-certification process.
• Collaborates with other internal departments (e.g., COSEC, Group Internal Audit) to direct internal compliance issues to appropriate channels for investigation and resolution.
• Ensure the appropriate monitoring mechanisms are in place to ensure policy compliance.
• Lead discussions with respective second lines of defence functions and policy owners on the implementation of mechanisms to obtain assurance that key risks are being mitigated
JOB CONTEXT:
The role's complexity lies in the global nature of the service provision of Enterprise Risk Management and Operational Resilience, the breadth and broad range of Risk and Resilience management issues, be it strategic, operational, financial or compliance.
ERM and Operational Resilience are essential strategic functions to ensure the key risks across the Group are being appropriately managed and that the Group is able to respond to any event or escalating incident that threatens DP World's strategic objectives, reputation or viability and which requires a response beyond the normal business-as-usual means.
The jobholder needs to have the gravitas to work at Board level and Audit Committee level, and to be well networked within the Group, especially with the Executive Management members and with external Statutory bodies to ensure the earliest possible knowledge of business plans, strategies and initiatives, from the perspective of protecting DP World and ensuring corporate compliance with ERM and Resilience requirements.

• To deliver support to the Executive Management
• To work closely with the Company Secretarial Function and the Audit Committee
• To work alongside all of the Corporate/Group Functions
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (preferably finance related ) mandatory
• Professional Certification Eg. Chartered Accountant or equivalent (CPA, ACA) mandatory
• Big 4 preferred
Experience
• Minimum 15 years of experience with at least 10 years ERM Leadership experience
• Proven track record as subject matter expert
• Expert in regulatory investigations and knowledge of regulatory environment
• Thorough knowledge of Enterprise Risk management, auditing, accounting, business analysis and program evaluation, financial reporting.
• Be knowledgeable and up to date on ERM and internal compliance trends, technology, techniques and the associated local and international laws
• Expertise in the Standards for the Professional Practice of Enterprise Risk Management
• Overseeing staff and providing work direction and monitoring results.
Skills
• Fluency in English [oral and written]
