Delegates project tasks to assigned engineers, technicians, and project managers.
Informs, motivates, and acts as initial escalation point for project team members.
Communicates business objectives to project team members and explains how technical solutions meet those goals.
Manages relationships with resources and stakeholders by influence.
Works closely with technical staff to develop solutions to new or changing business objectives.
Acts as primary authority to non-technical stakeholders but defers to technical resources to resolve conflicts. Crafts long-form written business cases. Writes Requests for Proposals for evaluation by third parties. Accurately presents information verbally and in writing to cross-functional teams on technical subjects.
Develops documentation and mechanisms for team use to maximize productivity across projects and programs. Tracks lessons learned and provides immediate feedback. Continuously improves tools, processes, and documentation. Discovers and champions Standard Work, creating such processes where possible.
Provide frequent on-site monitoring and enforcement of installation schedules and vendor quality, inspect prospective and completed facilities in accordance with corporate standards and procedures, and ensure proper follow-up on punch lists and warranty work.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
5+ years of experience managing IT infrastructure projects from initiation to closure.
Possess deep understanding of core IT infrastructure and service concepts.
Planning and designing data communication networks,
Overseeing the network implementation process, including setting schedules and budgets
Experience working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment while prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities.
Significant experience with the following protocols and concepts: TCP/IP, TCP/IP Flow control, UDP, HSRP/VRRP/GLBP, DNS, ARP, HTTP, SSL, STP, Trunking, & Port Channeling, IPsec and TLS
In depth experience on Cisco IOS and Cisco hardware platforms Ability to travel (30%)
Experience with project management best practices such as PMI, Waterfall, and Agile
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
Proficiency with MS Office Suite
Ability to successfully manage cross-functional projects involving multiple stakeholders and varying levels of management.
Proficiency-level knowledge in one or more of the following: LAN, WAN, Wireless, Telecommunications, Systems Administration, Low voltage data cabling, or data facilities technologies
Deep knowledge of network hardware and packet forwarding architectures.
Keeping documentation of networks, including drawings, descriptions and configurations
Experience with procurement of IT equipment.
Experience as a leader and mentor for teams in a matrixed environment.
Experience in distribution, manufacturing, logistics, or other warehouse environments.
Master's Degree from an accredited university
Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, and SharePoint
