Job Purpose:


The Sustainable Procurement Manager will be responsible for leading multi-sectoral sustainable procurement practices including but not limited to Scope 3 emissions strategy, human rights and anti-corruption principles from DP World's "Our World, Our Future" sustainability strategy.


The successful candidate will report to the Group VP Procurement Strategy & Performance and will require close collaboration with teams from Group Procurement, Group Sustainability, Group HSE, Group Operations & Engineering and Group Planning & Project Management. The Sustainable Procurement Manager will be expected to work with regional, local and asset-based teams on capacity building and support in achieving targets and KPIs.


Key Accountabilities:

Sustainable Procurement programme


• Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with our organization's ESG principles, addressing responsible supply chain needs (for example scope 3 emissions, gender equality, human right, anti-corruption principles etc.).
• Development of sustainable procurement policies and work with cross-functional teams to establish ESG criteria for supplier selection and contract negotiations and ensure that all procurement practices are in line with our sustainability objectives.
• Conduct sustainability assessments of our suppliers, identify areas for improvement, and work with them to set and achieve sustainability targets, including exploring potential SBTi commitments.
• Establish a supplier ESG performance monitoring system, analyse supplier sustainability data, and report regularly to internal stakeholders on progress and opportunities for improvement.Contribute to our broader ESG communication and ESG disclosure/ reporting efforts.
• Stay up to date on ESG regulations, standards, and trends and recommend changes to our procurement practices as needed to maintain alignment with industry best practices.
• Put in place procurement programmes to minimize operational waste in own operations.
• Identify and address potential human rights risks and advance respect for human rights across the supply chain.
• Support regional sustainability leads with the responsible procurement requirements.

Capacity Building


• Create and deliver training programs for procurement employees and other relevant stakeholders to ensure understanding and adherence to our ESG principles.

Continuous Improvement


• Encourage and nurture a culture of innovation designed to achieve higher rankings in global sustainability indices.
• Test and validate new approaches to sustainability.
• Highlight best practices and innovative solutions.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in procurement, supply chain management, sustainability, or a related field. Master's degree preferred
• Minimum 5 years on the job experience in a relevant field.
• Extensive experience in procurement, with a strong understanding of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and supplier management.
• Knowledge of ESG issues and trends, and experience integrating ESG criteria into procurement practices.Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex data and identify insights and opportunities.
• Experience working in a global, multi-stakeholder environment preferred.
