The Group Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. The role is critical in ensuring the financial integrity of the company, providing strategic financial insights, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
• Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash.
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances.
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Ensure compliance with all internal processes, including internal and external audits.
• Collaborate with the FP&A team to support the overall financial strategy and decision-making process.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Manage and comply with local, and global reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Lead the finance team by providing training, guidance, and mentoring.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in accounting and CPA /CA / CIMA qualification
• Minimum 7 years of combined experience in financial management roles, with a strong background in accounting and reporting, preferably within a multinational company.
• Experience in managing financial operations across multiple countries is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and other relevant financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in financial reporting software, including ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) skills.
• Experience with financial planning and analysis (FP&A) will be an advantage
• Skilled knowledge of financial statement analysis and GAAP, corporate finance concepts, and reporting techniques.
• Extensive knowledge of financial accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work under pressure.
• Excellent communicator and collaborator across multiple functions and management levels.
