We are looking to engage an individual that understands the dynamics of sitting in the Group Commercial Director chair.Working alongside and reporting to the General Manager you will be involved in all many of aspects to ensure the Business is Profitable, successful and maintains a great name of quality in the market. This role will involve handling multiple project teams, external stakeholders and so on. We really want someone that has led the Commercial Performance of a Buildings Main Contracting Group opposed to a Major Project character. We just feel that with so many aspects to manage and handle that this person will understand the focus, risk management and time needed to get across projects and the corporate needs.
As the Group Commercial Director you will be operating at a strategic level dealing directly with Board representatives on a Regular Basis
You will be responsible for budgets, forecasts, medium and long term plans whilst providing sound commercial & contractual advice
Able to think outside the box on procurement, frameworks and partnership agreements to ensure wins for all parties
Supporting all tender and bid proposal activity.
Reviewing all pre-contract documentation ensuring risks, liabilities and commitments of contractual arrangements are identified and that all contracts balance risk with appropriate potential profitability, including the negotiation of contract terms as necessary.
Developing and implementing commercial strategies as appropriate.
Assisting legal in the preparation of instructions to external law firms in relation to major disputes.
Ownership of all commercial processes including development thereof as required including updating to reflect current legislation
Ensuring compliance with all commercial processes.
Management of all CCVR and forecast reporting including ensuring prudent approach taken to contentious value.
Quarterly Forecast Reports
Annual Budget for presentation to Shareholder Representatives
Medium Term Plans
Drafting and negotiation of Joint Venture and Consortium Agreements.
Requirements from applicants applying
20 Years Post Grad experience
Strong knowledge of local UAE supply chain, clients & environment
Clear Tier 1 Buildings Experience for a Main Contractor (Not client or developer)
Exposure to Claims, Arbitration and the full life cycle of Construction Projects in the UAE
You will add input , strategy and guidance from pre-construction through to final accounts
You will have an extensive knowledge of FIDIC contracts having worked across the UAE
BSc Quantity Surveying Western University
LLM Construction Law and Arbitration
MRICS / MCIArb

People skills and communication to be able to collaborate and build bridges with staff and external clients
