The GRE Pipeline Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Glass Reinforced Epoxy (GRE) pipeline systems. This role is crucial in ensuring the integrity, safety, and efficiency of GRE pipelines used in various industries, including oil and gas, water treatment, and industrial processes. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Installation:** - Install GRE pipelines according to project specifications and industry standards. - Conduct site surveys to determine optimal installation routes and ensure proper alignment and support of pipelines. - Assemble and join GRE pipe sections using appropriate methods and tools. - **Maintenance and Repair:** - Perform regular inspections and maintenance of GRE pipelines to detect and address issues such as leaks, cracks, or other forms of damage. - Troubleshoot and resolve problems with GRE pipelines, including repairing or replacing damaged sections. - Apply protective coatings and other maintenance treatments to extend the lifespan of GRE pipelines. - **Testing and Quality Assurance:** - Conduct pressure tests and other assessments to ensure the integrity and performance of GRE pipelines. - Document test results and perform necessary adjustments or repairs based on findings. - Ensure all work meets quality standards and complies with relevant regulations and safety protocols. - **Technical Support:** - Provide technical support and training to other technicians and personnel involved in the installation and maintenance of GRE pipelines. - Develop and maintain technical documentation, including installation guides, maintenance logs, and troubleshooting manuals. - **Compliance and Safety:** - Ensure all activities comply with industry regulations, environmental standards, and company safety policies. - Conduct safety inspections and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks associated with GRE pipeline installation and maintenance. - Participate in safety training and drills to maintain high standards of workplace safety. **Qualifications:** - **Education:** - High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field (e.g., Pipeline Technology, Industrial Maintenance) is preferred. - **Experience:** - Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working with GRE pipelines or similar pipeline systems. - Hands-on experience with the installation, maintenance, and repair of GRE or comparable pipelines. - **Skills and Abilities:** - Proficient in the use of tools and equipment for installing and maintaining GRE pipelines. - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure. - Excellent communication skills for providing support and training to team members. - Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and diagrams. - **Certifications:** - Relevant certifications such as API (American Petroleum Institute) or ASNT (American Society for Nondestructive Testing) are highly desirable. - **Physical Requirements:** - Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials. - Comfortable working in various environments, including outdoor sites, confined spaces, and potentially hazardous locations. - Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call duties. **Working Conditions:** The GRE Pipeline Technician will work in diverse environments, including construction sites, industrial facilities, and field locations.
