You\'ll be part of a close knit UAE based team but also collaborating closely with Fire Engineering colleagues in other regions such as the U.K., U.S. and Germany, both in the context of projects and knowledge sharing.

Developing your skills toward becoming lead fire engineer on projects, and assisting with the development of fire strategies. Inform and support the building design aspirations, functionality and architectural form throughout the design process.
Developing your skills in understanding the relevant fire safety codes applicable to our projects.
Developing your understanding the role of fire engineering from the inception to completion of a project and through in to its operational life.
Carry out a variety of tasks ranging from means of escape assessments to engineering calculations including smoke modelling and evacuation analysis from simple hand calculations to complex 3D computational modelling, as relevant to your exprience.
Work with others to develop your skills in project delivery.
Learning to become responsible for financial monitoring of projects.
Represent, with others, BuroHappold Fire Engineering at design team meetings, both internal and externally.
Build knowledge to be able to identify the need for fire engineering design solutions.
Build knowledge of how buildings are constructed and operated to broaden your ability to understand and advise on a variety of fire safety requirements for new and existing buildings. Supporting colleagues in monitoring on site implementation of a fire strategy or carrying out other building inspections.
Collaborating with other disciplines both within Buro Happold and other organisations.
Working with a mentor on a career path and owning your personal professional development programme.

As a Fire Engineering professional with experience in the Middle East market, we would expect that you will be able to demonstrate:
A higher education qualification in fire safety engineering or in a fire safety related subject.
Demonstrable, relevant \xe2\x80\x98hands-on\xe2\x80\x99 professional experience in fire safety. (Preferred candidates will have a minimum of 2 years experience)
Good communication and knowledge of understanding the differing needs of our clients and within stakeholder groups.
Capability of working as part of a larger team on multiple projects with other professional engineers.
Developing expertise in delivering fire safety engineering solutions in a multi-disciplinary environment with experience in developing fire strategies, undertaking engineering analysis and applying performance based designs. Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
An aptitude for problem solving.
Willingness to travel.
