Graduate Environmental Consultant (Marine) - Dubai, UAEAn opportunity has arisen for a highly disciplined Graduate Environmental Consultant (Marine) to join our office in Dubai, UAE to help deliver environmental projects.Successful candidates will be working on high profile projects helping some of Middle Easts leading organisations to safeguard the environment for the future.The successful candidates duties and responsibilities will include:
Supporting senior consultants on a range of projects, including: environmental monitoring and baseline surveys (marine and terrestrial), environmental, social, and health impact assessments (ESHIA), environmental auditing, and construction environmental management plans
Undertaking fieldwork activities, including site visits and collating site data and information
Assisting the GIS Team with basic data creation through georeferencing and digitisation, as required, to input spatial analysis and produce generic maps
Assisting technical leads in preparing reports
Undertaking and presenting desktop research on specific and emerging environmental subjects
Conducting research to support environmental assessments
Compiling regulatory framework documents containing local, national, and international legislation, standards, and guidelines (including non-official translations)
Assisting with the production of technical and commercial proposals
Supporting managerial staff in communicating project information to clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and regulators
Assisting technical leads with preparing capacity building and training materials
Supporting senior consultants with project administration
Carrying out office administration tasks
Desired experience and skills
Hold a 2:1 or 1st class honours degree in environmental science or related discipline
Preferably MSc qualified in a relevant subject
Professional Membership (advantageous)
Some experience working on consultancy or conservation projects (advantageous)
Some knowledge of UAE environmental legislation, standards, and guidelines
QGIS or ArcGIS fundamental / basic skills
GIS / geodatabases experiences desirable
Willingness to travel for short periods of time (1-3 weeks) across the region including KSA
Bilingual in Arabic and English (written and verbal) communication skills
Ability to think critically and work proactively
Good team player, with the ability to work autonomously
Enthusiastic and well organised
Full driving license (advantageous)
