Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Golf Course Superintendent to oversee the maintenance, management, and overall operations of our golf course. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the course is in excellent playing condition, managing turfgrass, landscaping, and staff, as well as developing and implementing maintenance programs that align with environmental sustainability and budget considerations.

Key Responsibilities :

• Oversee the day-to-day maintenance of the golf course, including turfgrass, trees, and landscaping.
• Develop and implement comprehensive agronomic and horticultural programs to ensure the optimal health of the course.
• Manage irrigation systems, including water schedules and repair of irrigation equipment.
• Supervise and lead a team of groundskeepers, ensuring all maintenance work is performed to high standards.
• Prepare and manage the budget for the golf course, tracking expenses and overseeing procurement of equipment, tools, and supplies.
• Develop and implement strategies for disease, pest, and weed control in compliance with environmental regulations.
• Ensure that the course is well-maintained throughout the year, preparing it for daily play and special events.
• Collaborate with golf professionals and management to address specific needs or challenges related to course conditions.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, chemical applications, and environmental impact reports.
• Operate and maintain equipment used for course maintenance, and arrange repairs or replacement when necessary.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Turf Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field preferred.
• At least 3-5 years of experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
• In-depth knowledge of turfgrass management, irrigation systems, and landscaping.
• Strong understanding of environmental sustainability and best practices for golf course maintenance.
• Experience managing budgets and understanding financial reporting.
• Leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of the rules of golf and how course maintenance impacts playability.

Skills :

• Expertise in turfgrass science and golf course maintenance.
• Knowledge of irrigation systems and water management practices.
• Proficiency in using specialized golf course maintenance equipment.
• Strong leadership and staff management abilities.
• Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and respond to emergencies.

Certifications :

• Certification in Golf Course Management (GCSAA or equivalent) preferred.
• Pesticide Applicator's License preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED10,000.00 - AED20,000.00 per month
