Duties will require assisting the planning, establishing, implementing, maintaining and verifying compliance of safety and environmental standards and initiatives, to ensure compliance with corporate and local departmental HSE requirements and expectations. Reports both internally within the organization department and with other support organizations such as with loss prevention, environmental protection and Operational Excellence where necessary. Incumbent will be expected to travel within kingdom to divisional facilities within the organization department. Provides advice and consultation to department staff on maintaining a safe working environment in compliance with environmental and safety regulations, standards, and practices.
Identifies and evaluates hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace, conducting surveys to assess occupational health, safety, and environmental conditions.
Coordinates on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices, offering guidance on compliance with corporate safety regulations and procedures.
Conducts safety inspections at construction sites and department facilities, including hazard analyses and safe work procedures, and prepares written reports with recommendations.
Develops controls for identified hazards and coordinates their implementation based on hazard analyses results. Measures and evaluates the effectiveness of hazard control systems, policies, and procedures, recommending improvements to reduce workplace incidents and injuries.
Prepares safety orientations, safety training materials, and job site inspection procedures. Conducts specialized safety and environmental training programs to communicate hazard control information and assists in new employee orientation.
Participates in Safe Operations Committee meetings.
Reviews and analyzes injury, property damage, and statistical loss data, working with management to create comprehensive recommendations for corrective actions to eliminate or minimize potential hazards.
Ensures essential safety requirements are incorporated into all purchasing and contracting actions, recommending the purchase of safety equipment, supplies, and personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with company requirements.
Maintains awareness of corporate safety requirements and recommends their implementation.
Assists management in monitoring employee and contractor adherence to the department\'s safety program.
Performs other related duties as directed by the supervisor.
Requirements:
This role required candidate to permanently relocate at Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
BS degree in engineering, safety engineering, industrial hygiene, or environmental science, or in a related field is preferred in addition to certification for radiation safety officer (RSO).
Must have (8) years of related safety/operational experience and/or training, preferably in the oil/gas or petrochemical industry, or in the industry related to the position placement.
Must have knowledge or training in the following: occupational health, safety and environmental compliance with applicable industry, governmental and/or international standards.
Must have demonstrated knowledge of delivering hands on health, safety and environmental training. Must also have ability to assist with developing, implementing, and coordinating comprehensive health and safety programs.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (training/presentations/report writing). Participate in teams and/or committees.
Skilled in the standards, concepts, practices, and procedures within the health, safety and environmental fields.
