The company was founded on May 29, 1933 and is headquartered in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.Job SummaryThe successful candidate will serve as the Company\'s foremost expert in Downstream strategy, providing insight and recommendations to the Downstream Finance, Strategy & Planning function, the Downstream President, and other members of Downstream Management. They will independently initiate research on a wide variety of topics relevant to the Company\'s competitive advantage in the Downstream business and prepare research and analyses as required by Downstream executive management, the Downstream Investment & Strategy Committee, or other Corporate Committees. This will include analysis of developments in technology, geopolitics, sustainability, and other relevant regulations, Saudi Arabia\'s government plans, and the Downstream industry in general.Additionally, the incumbent will participate in the formulation and maintenance of the overarching Downstream strategy, as well as in the management of Downstream strategy execution. This involves collaborating in the formulation of strategies for the Downstream businesses, translating the strategies into investment plans for capital planning purposes, as well as into business plans for overall resource planning purposes, and KPI monitoring. The incumbent will furthermore lead, and/or collaborate in, strategic projects to execute decisions resulting from strategic analyses.The role requires the building and maintaining of strong relationships with subject matter experts across the Company, as well as from think tanks and other industry advisory bodies, in order to keep abreast of key developments in the Downstream business globally, as well as other arenas that could impact the This Company Downstream\'s competitive performance. Furthermore, the role requires outstanding analytical and storytelling skills, as well as change management experience. Previous experience in the fields of Carbon Management and ESG reporting will be considered a plus.Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the Company\'s top expert in Downstream strategy, offering guidance and insight on Downstream business matters.
  • Act as the "Corporate Advisor" for Downstream business affairs, providing counsel to Downstream Finance, Strategy & Planning function, the Downstream President, and other members of Downstream Management.
  • Prepare research and analyses for Downstream executive management, the Downstream Investment & Strategy Committee, or other Corporate Committees.
  • Collaborate within a team of strategists to articulate the overall Downstream strategy for the Company and formulate outlook scenarios.
  • Collaborate within a team of strategists and planners to develop Downstream longer-term strategic plans, including capital/resource allocation plans.
  • Establish strong relationships with subject matter experts across the Company, as well as from think tanks and other industry advisory bodies, to stay updated on key developments in the global Downstream business and other relevant areas.
  • Conduct independent research on various topics to explore long-term scenarios impacting the Company\'s competitive advantage in the Downstream business. Prepare research, special studies, and analyses for the Strategic Council and other Corporate Committees as required.
  • Lead, or participate in, strategic projects aimed at executing decisions resulting from strategic analyses.
Requirements:
  • This role required candidate to permanently relocate at Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
  • Hold a Master\'s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Financial Management, or related fields.
  • Demonstrate continuous professional development through personal study, relevant work experiences, seminars, professional networking, and extension courses, steadily advancing expertise in respective areas.
  • Accumulate a minimum of 15 years of experience in refining, chemicals, trading, and retail marketing business, preferably with an international integrated downstream company or a global energy think tank/consulting firm. Of this experience, at least 5 years should involve strategy formulation, scenario planning, and/or strategic planning.
  • Possess excellent English communication and storytelling skills, both written and oral, alongside experience in change management.
