The role
  • Development of high-quality proposals while managing risk exposure to the business leveraging existing technical capability within LR and external capability integral to supporting and delivering the value propositions.
  • To manage projects within a discipline and ensure they are in accordance with quality system requirements, cost structures, and budgetary/contractual requirements.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams drawing on wider LR resources to develop integrated strategies and business solutions and provide subject matter expert advice to key clients.
  • To assess/recommend the time/value of the work to be undertaken for an internal/external client within an agreed fee/cost structure.
  • Manage technical and commercial aspects of bid development and project delivery while drawing in expertise from our global LR group.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
  • To pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge, and awareness.
  • To mentor/coach other employees, as appropriate, to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application.
  • To make recommendations based on internal/external client feedback to assist in service delivery improvement and to help build the business.
  • To provide specialist support/advice within a discipline to internal/external clients.
  • To produce the deliverable within the agreed broad parameters in an appropriate format and take responsibility for reviewing other employees work as appropriate.
  • To discuss/present the deliverable with the internal/external client up to the senior level and be able to suggest alternative solutions where appropriate.
  • Improve service delivery by communicating internal/external client feedback as appropriate.
  • Develop sustainability key performance indicators, strategies, and management plans for planning and designing projects and implement them throughout the project duration.
  • Support business development with opportunity identification, proposal development, direct and indirect marketing, and thought leadership.
  • Undertake administration as required in line with current processes and procedures.
What you bring
  • A bachelor's degree (or master's degree is preferred) from a recognized institution within the relevant field of engineering or business.
  • An expert advisor / Subject Matter Expert in comprehensive Port Planning for a variety of Port Eco-system for a full spectrum of design, engineering, operations, risk management, governance, policies, commissioning, and decommissioning of port assets
  • Industry expert in the discipline with exposure to various Ports stakeholders
  • Minimum 15 years of industry experience, at least 7 years of experience in best-in-class consulting & advisory firms.
  • Membership of appropriate professional institution.
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status is preferred.
  • Experience in Port traffic optimization services that harmonize maritime traffic and ensure alignment with port shore and in-land operations
  • Expertise in master plan development of Ports, Logistics Parks, Logistics Eco-system, and Logistics analysis
  • Experience in tailored Port planning solutions to challenges including extreme weather, natural disasters, urbanization, aging infrastructure, energy, and supply chain complexities.
  • Experience in Port planning assessment for consideration of operations in a green corridor
  • Exposure to Port capacity assessment, congestion management, digital assessment, and automation.
  • Exposure to Port planning services on clean energy green bunkering facilitiesxe2x80x8b, OPS, etc. xe2x80x8b
  • Provide expert guidance in selecting the best investments and technical solutions for port operations and infrastructure
  • Experience working in a xe2x80x98Seller-Doer environment with a consultative selling skillset.
  • Experience in the development of complex technical reports in line with local/regional regulatory requirements and international best practices.
  • Experience with creating business development materials to support projects.
  • Experience conducting analysis (desktop research, data analysis, reviewing documents, interviewing, etc.) and synthesizing into digestible outputs (e.g., reports, presentations).
  • Highly effective communication skills, both written and verbal, in English, (additional languages preferred)
  • Ability to build strong relationships with a range of clients.
  • Strong facilitation skills that are adaptable to different situations and communication styles.
