Job purpose

As the Global Head of Air Freight at WeFreight, your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement a comprehensive global strategy aimed at driving growth and increasing market share in the air freight product segment. You will play a crucial role in leading and managing a team of country air freight heads, ensuring the successful execution of operations and adherence to strategic objectives.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Global Strategy Development and Implementation:

• Develop and execute a global strategy for the air freight product, aligning with the overall business objectives.
• Identify market trends, customer needs, and growth opportunities to shape the strategic direction.

Team Leadership:

• Functionally lead and manage a team of country air freight heads, providing guidance, support, and fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Ensure effective communication and coordination between global and country-level teams.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance service offerings, improve processes, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
• Work closely with sales, operations, technology, and finance teams to optimize the end-to-end supply chain.

Market Intelligence:

• Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities.
• Conduct regular market analysis and provide insights to the executive leadership team.

Operations Excellence:

• Drive operations excellence by optimizing processes, implementing best practices, and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
• Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of air freight operations.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with international and regional regulatory requirements related to air freight operations.
• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address regulatory challenges and mitigate risks.

Financial Management:

• Work closely with finance teams to manage budgets, control costs, and achieve financial targets.
• Implement cost-effective measures while maintaining service quality and customer satisfaction.

Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate operational risks, working closely with risk management teams to ensure a resilient and secure ocean freight operation

Educational Requirements

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree is
a plus.

Language Requirements

English \xe2\x80\x93 Fluent (required)

Background and Experience

• Min. 10 years experience in air freight pricing within the freight forwarding industry.
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and inspire a global pricing team.
