Job purpose
As the Global Head of Air Freight at WeFreight, your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement a comprehensive global strategy aimed at driving growth and increasing market share in the air freight product segment. You will play a crucial role in leading and managing a team of country air freight heads, ensuring the successful execution of operations and adherence to strategic objectives.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Global Strategy Development and Implementation:
Develop and execute a global strategy for the air freight product, aligning with the overall business objectives.
Identify market trends, customer needs, and growth opportunities to shape the strategic direction.
Team Leadership:
Functionally lead and manage a team of country air freight heads, providing guidance, support, and fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Ensure effective communication and coordination between global and country-level teams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance service offerings, improve processes, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Work closely with sales, operations, technology, and finance teams to optimize the end-to-end supply chain.
Market Intelligence:
Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities.
Conduct regular market analysis and provide insights to the executive leadership team.
Operations Excellence:
Drive operations excellence by optimizing processes, implementing best practices, and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of air freight operations.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with international and regional regulatory requirements related to air freight operations.
Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address regulatory challenges and mitigate risks.
Financial Management:
Work closely with finance teams to manage budgets, control costs, and achieve financial targets.
Implement cost-effective measures while maintaining service quality and customer satisfaction.
Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate operational risks, working closely with risk management teams to ensure a resilient and secure ocean freight operation
