As a testament to its excellence and influence, the firm actively fosters strategic global partnerships, continuously setting benchmarks in quality and industry standards.Job SummaryStaff/Chief Scientist Methane Reforming Technologist is expected to Initiate, Propose and Execute research and development, Debottlenecking/Revamp, Energy saving, Sustainability improvement programs directed towards the improvement of processes and commercial technologies. Lead in-house new process technology development, scale up & implementations in commercial plants. Provide technology support to commercial plants for the shutdown, turnover, and re-commissioning as needed. Provide trouble-shooting & Root cause analysis support and drive problem resolution for commercial plants. The Methane Reforming technologist is required initially to support in Growth Projects and be aware of the differences of available licensing technology from main licensors, the differences between licensors leading to the selection of the best technology.Key Responsibilities:
Provide directions and lead methane reforming technology selection for Blue Ammonia development and technology configuration of the process.
Be aware of Decarbonization solutions in the industry and link them to the technology selection exercise.
Provide trouble-shooting and root cause analysis support, and drive problem resolution for commercial plants.
Develop a Plant-wide Model in Aspen Plus or similar software and guide plant improvements and performance enhancements.
Carry out energy and mass balance calculations, energy optimization and pinch studies, pump hydraulics calculations, heat exchanger design and calculations, and evaluate various catalyst performances. Conduct feasibility studies and revamp studies.
Independently review engineering documents and steer technology selection and technology improvements.
Provide technology support to commercial plants for shutdown, turnover, and re-commissioning as needed.
Collaborate with external companies, start-ups, and universities, and lead projects toward implementation in the plant.
Provide insights, directions, and support to product development within the group.
Actively contribute to the safety culture, coach young employees, and initiate new programs.
Requirements:
This role required candidate to permanently relocate at Jubail, Saudi Arabia.
Preferred qualifications include a Masters or PhD degree.
Possess 15 years of experience in dealing with new product development, with a preference for experience in collaboration or previous interactions with start-ups.
Demonstrate strategic thinking and planning abilities.
Exhibit leadership skills to work with and influence highly talented individuals from diverse disciplines and cultures.
Ability to create, foster, and drive a culture of innovation.
