We are seeking an experienced GL Accountant to oversee the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of financial records in compliance with industry standards. The role involves managing reconciliations, financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements specific to the travel and tourism industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. General Ledger Management:
o Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely posting of journal entries.
o Perform regular reconciliations of accounts, including bank, intercompany, and vendor accounts.
2. Financial Reporting:
o Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
o Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
3. Regulatory Compliance:
o Ensure adherence to accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry-specific compliance requirements.
o Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
4. Expense and Revenue Tracking:
o Monitor and reconcile revenue streams, including ticketing, hotel bookings, and tour packages.
o Track and analyze expenses, ensuring proper allocation and cost efficiency.
5. Budget and Forecast Support:
o Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts, providing data-driven insights for decision-making.
o Monitor budget variances and recommend corrective actions when needed.
6. Process Improvement:
o Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
o Collaborate with other departments to streamline workflows related to financial data.
7. Team Collaboration:
o Work closely with the accounts payable and receivable teams to ensure smooth financial operations.
o Liaise with external stakeholders such as auditors, tax consultants, and financial institutions.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are an advantage.
• Proven accounting experience, preferably in the travel and tourism industry.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software like SAP, Oracle Net Suite
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
